House in Cumbria: Cumbria

The quaint rural village of Hayton is a fabulous base for exploring both the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the northern parts of the Lake District National Park. The historic coastal town of Maryport (6.5 miles) is known for its Georgian and Victorian architecture, and is home to a bustling harbour, the Senhouse Roman Museum and the Lake District Coast Aquarium. Also nearby is Allonby (3 miles), known for its 5 mile beach and breathtaking coastal walks. The area has several beautiful beaches and a number of excellent golf courses. Heading inland, Cockermouth (9 miles) is the birthplace of William Wordsworth and marks an entry point into the Lake District, with Bassenthwaite Lake within easy reach (14 miles). Entering this airy and beautifully refurbished property, the hallway is perfect for leaving coats and boots before coming into the spacious and welcoming lounge. Featuring plenty of comfortable seating and a Smart TV, this is an ideal space to gather and relax in the evening. Exploring further, the light and stylish kitchen/diner is a fantastic space for cooking and enjoying all your favourite meals. The kitchen has a useful island unit and is fully equipped with an electric oven and separate hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The dining area is by the French doors which offer fantastic views over the garden and towards the Solway Firth. The ground floor also has a cloakroom and a utility room where you will find a washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional fridge/freezer. Upstairs, there are four light and relaxing bedrooms to choose from, all decorated in colourful, relaxing tones. There s a double room, a twin room which can be made up as a super king size on request, and two king size rooms, one with an en suite shower room complete with a shower and WC. The family bathroom features a bath, separate shower and WC. The first floor also has a handy study area, tucked away between two bedrooms, providing an ideal spot to catch up with some work or to enjoy a good book in peace. Heading outside, the large enclosed garden slopes downwards, with a delightful lawn and a couple of patio areas with outdoor furniture, a bar area and a BBQ, making this an ideal spot for al fresco dining. There s also a large private hot tub, perfect for unwinding in at the end of a great day. Off road parking is available for three cars on the drive, and there s also plenty of storage space in the garage for bikes, golf clubs and even boats.
