House in County Durham: Durham

Located on a country lane, with lovely views over open farmland and within easy reach of the village amenities less than 1.5 miles away, for shops, pubs, restaurants, and the Lanchester Valley Walk from the village car park. There is a network of walking routes passing right by the gate, including connections to the famous Coast to Coast walk. Spend memorable family days at Hall Hill Farm, Diggerland, and the Beamish Living Museum of the North (7 miles). Durham s Cathedral City is a must for river walks, museums, food and shopping. Newcastle s vibrant city, Quayside dining and fantastic shopping are less than 15 miles away and Hexham and Barnard Castle less than 27 miles. Head into the North Pennines AONB for a range of scenic walking and cycling routes. Access the property via the back door and come into the impressive and sociable, open plan kitchen/diner where you can plan and cook an exceptional family feast for that special occasion with an electric hob and double oven, full size fridge, freezer, dishwasher, combi microwave oven, a wine fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, and a Smart TV to keep the cook entertained. Sit at the kitchen island with a drink or breakfast and your dog will love snoozing in the purpose built doggy alcove. The warm utility room is ideal for drying wet clothing and has a washing machine and separate dryer. There is also a downstairs WC. The dining area is a great space for entertaining with a large table where you can all enjoy leisurely dinners sitting together. Head into the conservatory with comfortable seating where children can play, or you can sit with your morning coffee and a good book, admiring wonderful views of the garden and countryside beyond. There are two lounges to spread out in making more areas for all the family to enjoy their own space. One of the lounges has comfortable three and four seater sofas to unwind in and watch the Smart TV. The stone feature fireplace houses a electric fire. There is also a small piano you can play on and a secret Harry Potter style 'play bedroom' with a little bed which the children will love. The second lounge has two more sofas and a Smart TV. Heading upstairs there are two king size bedrooms, one with a freestanding bath where you can treat yourself to a peaceful bubble bath, plus an en suite shower and WC. The other king size bedroom has an en suite bath with shower and WC and Juliette balcony. There are two super king size zip and link bedrooms (which can be made up as twins on request) one with a glazed door to a Juliette balcony and both have an en suite shower and WC. The family bedroom also has a super king size zip and link bed (which can be made up as twins on request) plus a day bed for an additional guest. Enjoy a lazy morning in bed admiring the views or sit for a quiet read. This bedroom has an en suite shower room with WC. Outside there is a spacious, enclosed, lawned garden with mature shrubs and trees, a dining area with a large, outdoor table and chairs, a seating area with a BBQ on the side patio close to the hot tub, and a further seating area with a fire pit can be found in an elevated spot in the garden to take advantage of the views. Enjoy fun and bubbles in the hot tub with views across the front garden. Parking is off road for four cars.
