Discover this fabulous castle nestled amidst 8 acres of private grounds in a peaceful countryside setting. The harbour town of Campbeltown is within easy reach as is the pretty seaside village of Machrihanish, home of the world renowned Machrihanish Golf Course. The Kintyre Peninsula is known for its unspoilt beauty, splendid white sandy beaches and spectacular wildlife, superb golf courses, historic castles, and of course, the local whisky. Nearby, the Kintyre Way is a paradise for walkers and bikers to explore, and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby Westport Beach, known as one of the best surfing spots in Scotland. Or, take boat trips and visit the magnificent islands of Gigha, Arran, Islay and Jura in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Step inside this historic castle with its splendid period features into the spacious reception hall, the perfect place to store your outdoor clothing. Venturing through the hall you are first met with the grand dining room, an ideal spot to enjoy family gatherings with a wine cooler and Bluetooth soundbar and on those cooler evenings, you can light the cosy open fire. Continue through the hall to the comfortable lounge with Smart TV and open fire, perfect for relaxing nights after a day out exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are also French doors in the lounge leading directly out to the large terrace with an outdoor seating area. Next, is the well equipped games room for all the family to enjoy, with a roulette table, chess and poker, 6ft foldable snooker/pool table and a variety of books, puzzles and board games. Completing the ground floor is the cloakroom with WC and an additional WC with original wooden Thunderbox. Heading down the stairs to the lower ground floor, you ll find a well equipped kitchen with an electric range oven with gas hob, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. This is directly followed by a dining area to enjoy family meals. Completing this floor is the handy utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Heading up the period spiral staircase to the first floor, you will find three beautifully decorated bedrooms. There is a four poster double with en suite Jack and Jill bathroom with roll top bath, separate shower cubical and WC (that can also be accessed through the hall). This is directly followed by a pretty twin bedroom. Completing the first floor is another fantastic four poster double bedroom with Jack and Jill en suite bathroom with shower over Jacuzzi bath and WC (that can also be accessed through the hall). Heading up the period spiral staircase to the second floor, you will find another four wonderful bedrooms, two doubles, one twin and one single, all with enchanting views. Finally, completing this fabulous castle is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Venture outside to the spectacular gardens which extend to approximately 8 acres. They are approached by a private drive that leads to the front of the house, with ample off road parking. There is a substantial south terrace with a seating area perfect for al fresco dining, which can be accessed directly from the lounge. The grounds also boast well established woodland to explore.
