Holiday home
Heron is a delightful, semi-detached cottage overlooking the tidal estuary in the hamlet of Black Bridge, near Milford Haven. The cottage has a king-size double room with a Juliet balcony and a twin room, both with en-suite shower rooms, and a twin room which can be made into a super king-size double room on request, also boasting a Juliet balcony. There is also a family bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, and a sitting room with a dining area, enjoying glorious views of the tidal estuary. Outside, there is an enclosed terrace with furniture, direct access down stone steps to a shingle beach, and off road parking for two cars. Heron truly is a wonderful base for a family holiday exploring Pembrokeshire and uncovering the wonders of South Wales.

Area
The town of Milford Haven overlooks the Cleddau Waterway and boasts a pretty marina, interesting shops, tea rooms and restaurants including those which serve freshly caught fish. The beaches, coastal path and lovely towns of Pembrokeshire are within easy reach.

Region
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

The cottage is very spacious and clean.. There is plenty of parking and generally it is a lovely property.
However, given the high cost to hire this property for a long weekend, we would have expected higher standards in a couple of areas. The duvets were really cheap and falling apart - these do need replacing. Additionally, the property would benefit from comfortable outdoor seating which was in better condition. The tables had suffered from the elements and the chairs were not particularly comfy. As such we didn't make the most of the seating area outside which had a tranquil and pretty view.

I called several weeks ahead of arrival date to ask that the twin room that can be made into a super kingsize bed upon request was made into a Kingsize for my Dad.. Upon arrival this had not been done.

The cottage promised amazing views and certainly did not disappoint.. It was amazing to watch the tides and weather changes. The only criticism was we felt it had not been cleaned especially in the current climate this is vital to reassure customers. We found many items belonging to the previous occupiers that had been overlooked and some areas had missed a clean and we do not expect spotless, duvets were poor quality and we wished we had brought our own and sheets too. For the price we would expected more also more cooking crockery and general utensils as we have come across better equipped cottages for much less.

The house is clean, spacious, modern and sits on the edge of an inlet with three other similar properties.. There is a large outside area at the back of the property which overlooks the inlet and provides loverly views. There is very little else close by so it is very peaceful and quiet. Milford Haven itself is a couple of minutes away, with a couple of large supermarkets and places to eat, but really this is a superb location for exploring the rest of Pembrokeshire as it is well situated for everything it has to offer. There is ample on site parking for a couple of cars. We absolutely loved our stay....a definite recommend.

We loved this cottage and want to come back.. The layout was perfect with three bathrooms upstairs and a cloakroom on the ground floor. Plenty of room inside and extra space on the outdoor patio overlooking the water. The cottage was easy to find and a short drive to local attractions. Lots of places to walk the dogs on a road with little traffic. There was a comprehensive information folder with helpful suggestions of things to do and places to eat that helped us plan our days. They also provided us with easy instructions for using the appliances. WiFi was very good.

Amazing - the location was perfect lovely to lie in bed in the morning and watch the tide come in and the birds .. The house itself was so comfortable - exceeded our expectations- if Sykes have a super league should be in there . Even though the weather was not great we were still able to sit out on the terrace and watch the world go by. The surrounding area town wise is not very inspiring but the beaches are superb . Highly highly recommended

Loved the cottage and the lovely woodland walk just the end of the road.. I didn’t notice this in your write up. But was a major success with our family golden retrievers. The cottage was well equipped very clean and easy to keep clean. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby. All in all a wonderful holiday experience thank you

The cottage was very comfortable and clean.. The Location although near the town of Milford Haven was very quite and Ideal for relaxing. Plenty of Supermarkets and takeaway near by if you want to eat in.
Weather was very good for 3 days and very bad for 3 days. We had such lovely walks on the Pembrokeshire coastal path, and the lovely beaches. St Davids was ideal when the weather was not so good and the cathedral is lovely.

Lovely to find an immaculate dog friendly house! This property is perched on the edge of a creek. We loved watching the tide come and go, and the wildlife that came in with the tide..swans, ducks, sand pipers etc. Such a peaceful place to stay. The property owners have gone above and beyond in making this a special holiday home. The beds were fantastically comfy too. Lots to do locally. Milford haven has some lovely places to eat out in the evenings. Tenby well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed if you book this house! One of the best we've stayed in.

By far our best "dog friendly " holiday accommodation.. Beautiful location and spacious, clean and well furnished. Booked to be near family at Christmas as they have recently moved to Milford Haven. We will definitely be looking to book here again. Thoroughly enjoyed by all both two and four legged.

The house was situated in a lovely place.. Had everything you needed for a lovely holiday.The only thing that ruined it was the cold windy weather ,which nobody can control , anywhere. Really good value for your money. will probably go back there in the near future

Only thing was there were no grab handles in the showers and the steps into the cottage proved awkward when unloading stuff from the car.. Would we go again YES IT WAS WONDERFUL HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

First time we have rented a cottage and the first time we have been to Wales.. Our cottage was wonderful, and an ideal base to explore the fantastic beaches and lovely towns, villages and walks we discovered. The people were so friendly and helpful and we now can't wait to go back. Tenby was our favourite destination, with lots of shops and bars and a dog friendly beach. The south beach bar and grill deserves a special mention for their good food and even better staff. We would recommend this holiday to anyone, and so would Louie, our dog

A small step in the kitchen would be handy for us shorties so we can reach the kitchen cupboards which are very high.. Maybe a cupboard left empty so there is room for food too.

This is easily the most fabulous place we have ever rented. For us the icing on the cake was the estuary behind the property, the ever changing views over it, the peace, quiet and privacy to enjoy the stupendous view and water-birds.
