The Neighbourhood
Hagal Farm is the place for you , if you enjoy the country side, nature and quiet!! We are reasonably 'far out', some would even call it 'in the middle of nowhere!' The nearest village to us is KealKill. It's around 7km away. This has one grocery shop and two pubs! :) Bantry, a lively seaside town, is 12km from us and it has numerous shops, restaurants, bars, a large supermarket and a cinema. It also has a great Organic shop and cafe. This is our main town, and it's around 20 mins drive from the Farm. (Kealkill is around 12 min drive away)

Make sure to visit the Bantry market on a Fri morning!

Bantry House is a lovely old estate with beautiful gardens that you can visit. There is a golf course in Bantry and the local hotel has a leisure centre open to the public. There are loads of beautiful walks in the area, the nearest one is just on Hagal's doorstep, (sheeps head way) which continues out all along the peninsula. Glengarriff is a tourist town 24km away, which has lovely Irish tourist shops, beautiful old woodlands, boat trips to Garnish Island (Italian Gardens), Ewe Gardens and more.

Hagal Farm is truly a hidden gem. It is rustic and very comfortable. Its delightfully quirky in character, and homely in atmosphere, and the gardens are fascinating and very well maintained. The welcome card and fresh flowers were a lovely touch. We also found the house very well equipped with all the utensils, pots, plates, bowls and cutlery etc that we could possibly have needed, and a few more!! Our family of 6 adults, 1 teenager and 6 children between 3 and 9 years old, had a wonderful time, and we were all able to relax and enjoy our time together. It is a long way from anywhere, so it is wonderfully peaceful and the surrounding scenery is stunning. But you can drive to Bantry within half an hour or so and the town is wonderful for pubs, restaurants, shops and groceries. We really enjoyed our time there, and we may well be back again next year!
June 2018
We stayed at Hagalfarm for 4 nights at middle of June. The hosts did every effort to make our stay comfortable and nice. We had great time. The house is big and with many options, with big living room, nice and big kitchen, the garden is beautiful and relaxing. We really enjoyed very moment! Thank you very much for a great vacation!

Hagal farm was nothing short of magic and blew everyone’s mind. From the yoga/meditation room, the grape vine conservatory fitted with fairy lights to the sauna and outdoor fire pit...this place is perfect for large groups! Our group immediately regretted staying for only 2 nights. We didn’t get to meet Janny but we were greeted by the caretaker who gave us a lovely tour. The drive to Hagal farm is interesting with many terrains, we’d advise to do this during daylight and with a GPS. The only problem we had was the amount of midges (small flies that bite), after it rains and if there is low wind, though this appears to be normal in the Irish country side. For 13 people staying two days without using the sauna, the electricity came out to be only 8 euro. Overall a great place for a group of friends to reunite and share each other’s company in a very well decorated serene and secluded location!

This is a fantastic space for both adults and children. The layout meant that for anyone, big or small, that wanted a nap or some quiet time this was easily accommodated. The space easily allows for both relaxation and quiet and also communal cooking and socialising. We all absolutely loved it and will definitely be booking again!
