Area Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. Beer is situated on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site.
Region Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

We have just returned from Gull’s Rest having had a truly lovely week. This is our fifth time of staying here and its charm never fails. We will be returning next year as we can’t think of anywhere else we would rather be. As I say to my husband it is my little bit of heaven.
The house is beautiful and very well appointed. It’s an extremely spacious house and the view is spectacular. Beer itself is very pretty and magical. We go out for the day visiting other places nearby which are beautiful but we always say none are more beautiful than Beer itself.
The owner Jackie is exceptionally helpful and always makes us feel so welcome. She gives Gull’s Rest it’s heart.
We feel privileged to stay here. Roll on next year!
We give it 10/10! Anita and Mick

This is a truly fantastic house that has everything you could want. Great location, sea views and well equipped. The beds were super comfy and the house was impeccably clean with a well stocked kitchen. We will certainly be back.

Wow wow wow What an amazing house with such a beautiful view over looking beer ! Spending a sunny week in October was such a delight for us all when we walked into Gulls it was a little slice of heaven ! The house was beautifully clean and well presented with little extra touches that was appreciated on arrival. The kitchen was very well equipped and the children loved the ice machine. Slept so well in the most comfortable beds after enjoying the walks and food that Beer and the surrounding area has to offer. It was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had and will definitely be back next year.

Could not recommend this house enough, beautifully decorated and outstanding cleanliness. We took our 2 year old who enjoyed the space and being close to the beach. The area is peaceful and felt very safe in our surroundings, perfect home from home feel to it. Will definitely be booking to return again in the summer.

Gulls Rest holiday house in Beer East Devon, beautiful property in an outstanding area, unfortunately the cleanliness of the house was not good. Toilets showers , plugs , fridge were disgusting. There was also blood on a blanket at the bottom of one of the beds.
I had to clean the property as we were travelling with a baby and needed to use the facilities immediately, really not a good start my holiday.
On return from the holiday I complained to Sykes via email with attached photos as evidence and by phone call but had to chase up the complaint several times both by phone and email as I Did not receive a response. on my last phone call to Sykes on the 30th September I was told the owner sent her apologies and later that day I received a phone call offering me £75 compensation which I refused.
This has been a very disappointing experience both because of the breach of contract about the cleanliness of the property and how my complaint has been dealt with through Sykes holiday letting agency
