Nestled along the Wild Atlantic Way just 3 km from Spanish Point lies the Gate Lodge @White Strand.

The carefully restored Gate Lodge building is quintessentially an early-Victorian lodge dating back to 1837 on the grounds of the Butler Families coastal retreat known as 'Aran View House'. The Gate Lodge formed the caretaker's home to the Butler Family, who had been the Earl of Ormond in the twelfth century.

From your morning cup of tea to the moment you slip between the sheets, every aspect of The Gate Lodge @White Strand has been lovingly considered so you can enjoy a secluded self-catering hideaway like no other!

An idyllic setting for couples or families looking to retreat & unwind or for those looking to immerse themselves in nature by reconnecting with the great outdoors.

Inspired by our unique location in a stunning environment overlooking White Strand Bay and the Cliffs of Moher, this self-catering private property has been sustainably restored with its minimalistic interiors yet bold design where the tender work of the original owner still shows today with its exposed original stonework walls and flagstone window sills.

You are blended in with its natural surroundings; the back garden allows you to conclude your day by enjoying oriental bathing in our oversized 'Ofuro' outdoor seaweed bath with hand-harvested seaweed from the shores of Spanish Point where you can awaken the body and soul with an outdoor plunge bucket shower. Dining al fresco has never been easier with the feeling of indoor/ outdoor living at the farm where you can indulge in some homegrown produce or sink into the oversized sofa and unwind.

Beyond the Gate Lodge, front lawn lies what was once the Aran View House. By roaming freely around you'll be greeted by various animals which could include Alpacas, miniature Shetland ponies, sheep and lambs.

While staying at the Gate Lodge you will enjoy easy access to West Clare's many historical and scenic attractions or simply immerse yourself in farm life by collecting your free-range eggs for breakfast or pick fresh herbs for your pizza.

**Please note that The Gate Lodge @White Strand was designed as a couples retreat but could accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults & 2 small children. (Double Sofa bed in the living room)
