Dunmanus Bay View: Cork

On the edge of Dunmanus Bay, just outside the charming West Cork village of Durrus, you will find this very private waterfront vacation rental which presents uninterrupted inspiring ocean views.

Each of the five spacious bedrooms provides magnificent vistas through the picture perfect large oceanside windows. With such a unique privileged setting, you won't even need to leave your bed in the mornings to appreciate the sea.

The large patio and barbeque area to the front is a heavenly spot for al fresco dining, or having that well-deserved sundowner in the evenings! The expansive garden leads directly to the water and a shingle beach is surrounded by views of Mizen Head and Sheep's Head.

The house is situated just outside the charming West Cork village of Durrus, with its shops and very popular pub/eatery The Long Boat.
The thriving and large town of Bantry is just 7 miles away.

Dunmanus Bay View can sleep ten guests very comfortably, and offers you the choice of five bedrooms and three bathrooms, tastefully combining an understated yet subtle modern décor, with the best traditions of hospitality and comfort.

There are three double bedrooms, each with a view out over the bay and each with a king-size bed. One room also has an en-suite bathroom with bath, power shower and WC. All beds are luxury King Koil pocket sprung or of similar quality and all bed linen is pure cotton. There are also two twin bedrooms located at the rear of the house and two further bathrooms, both with a separate bath and power shower and WC. All bathrooms have a bath, a shower, sink or sinks and a W.C.

The living area runs from the front to the back of the house and is contained within a generous open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. This part of Bay House is equipped with Blu-ray surround sound TV, high definition free-sat, iPod dock, leather sofas, dining table to seat ten and a large wood burning stove. Wireless broadband access is available throughout the house.

The spacious kitchen area has an American style fridge/freezer, a microwave and a conventional oven, hob, grill, toaster, ice maker and a full range of cooking utensils. A well-equipped utility room is complete with washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, iron and iron and board.

To the front of the property is The large patio and BBQ area, offers outdoor seating for ten guests. This is the perfect spot to sit and watch the sunset at the end of your day exploring this truly beautiful part of West Cork.

All of the living and sleeping accommodation is on one level; the house is spacious and very well equipped throughout. Dunmanus Bay View has central heating and we provide you with filtered water, towels, linen, soap and hair dryer. We can also provide up to date information on local activities. Dunmanus Bay View is suitable both for families and for more elderly or infirm guests and is wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, we cannot take pets. Please note that Dunmanus Bay House is completely non-smoking.

This property is very well kept and maintained.

This property was everything we had hoped and then some. Very comfortable, beautiful views and all comforts of home. If you are from the USA there maybe a couple of minor adjustments (such as washer/dryer not of a type we were used to), but Debbie and Chris most helpful, ready and available to assist where we needed some information/direction. The sights on property and around western Cork were fabulous and an area I sense most (at least those from the USA) overlook when visiting as it is some distance from the major cities. Staying right in the midst of this part of the country though was serendipitous and a real bonus to our trip.

We would most certainly recommend this location for excellent day trips, wonderful pubs & local fare, and a warm friendly greeting wherever you go. Loved it!!!

"A beautiful quiet retreat by the sea"

We loved this place, lots of space, quiet with a great big family kitchen. We swam in the sea, hired bikes, played games on the lawn and enjoyed a pint at the friendly local pubs.

"Fantastic holiday with family"

We rented the Bay House and had members of our family, children and grandchildren stay with us for varying lengths of time. It was the perefect setting! The house sleeps 10 with beautiful bedrooms , three of which face the bay. The living room /kitchen is an open style making cooking for for a group fun . There is a huge table inside and two outside that are perfect for group dining. There is an extra fridge and a washing machine which were both huge pluses for our group. The grandchildren enjoyed playing on the lawn and visiting the sheep and goats in the pasture next to the house. We can’t wait to return!

"Beautiful, soothing, spotless, comfortable"

We loved Bay House. Arrangements were easy to make with Debbie. The house was even more beautiful than the photos. Our group arrived to relax for a few days after a whirlwind of activities surrounding a wedding. We could not have picked a better spot. The views are great. Just sitting outside is relaxing. There was a welcome basket with some essentials. There were also maps and brochures of local attractions.

We went to Sheepshead which was beautiful, most of our group walked to lighthouse, others part way but enjoyed the views.

Beds comfortable and all seemed very fresh and clean. Maybe because we are from US, but it took us a bit to get used to the dishwasher and coffee maker being in the adjacent mini kitchen, but had we stayed longer we would have developed a routine.

Debbie could not have been nicer and helped me sort out the clothesline which I was embarrassed to not to know how to do.

We saw a seal in the bay and lots if birds.

Lovely, relaxing, quiet place to stay. Our family group of 10 adults stayed in the Bay House for 4 nights, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The large sitting room window looking out over the water gives a lovely feel to the house, so relaxing.

The house was very clean and everything was up to a very high standard.

We can highly recommend the Bay House for anyone wanting a quiet place to stay, right by the water. Chris and Debbie are very friendly hosts, ready to help in any way they can.

"Amazing Location"

The view was spectacular - even though the weather wasn't great for our visit it was amazing to watched the rain clouds move across the bay. Some fantastic sunsets as well.

The house was very comfortable, warm, clean and cosy. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you are likely to need when cooking for large groups and the welcome pack was very useful. Nice to know the owners are only next door if there were a problem, but not at all intrusive. It's a great base from which to tour and explore the surrounding area including Sheep's Head and Mizen Head, Bantry, Kinsale, Cork and Cobh. Schull and Barley Cove Bay and were our favourites! I would highly recommend this holiday accommodation.
