This is a beautifully renovated old cottage which has been lovingly brought to life. It is just 10 minutes outside the Doolin Village right on the doorstep of The Burren and is truly a 5 star property and a beautiful base to discover Doolin and the Wild Atlantic way.
The restoration of The cottage demonstrates tremendous attention to detail and the cottage now spans approx. 3,200 square feet (300 sq metres) and comprises a generous sitting room, separate kitchen and four large bedrooms sleeping 8 in three super king size beds and one king size bed.
Beautiful living areas with a solid fuel stove add to the atmosphere of your cosy night in. Light the fire, sit back and read a book, play cards or listen to your favourite music… Time really does slow down here!
The kitchen includes marble worktops as well as a microwave, fridge freezer, hob, oven, coffee maker and a wide range of utensils. A breakfast bar with high stools serves as an informal divide to the dining area.
The bedrooms are comfortable and generous and you are sure to have a great night's sleep. Egyptian cotton linen is paired with luxurious mattresses.
The bedrooms offer views of the stunning local landscape, including the Aran Islands and the unique limestone / karst backdrop of the Burren.

The home is beautiful and the setting is tranquil, relaxed and bucolic. We really enjoyed our stay there. WiFi can be a bit of a challenge, but that is true through the area. We wholeheartedly recommend it. There were 7 of us and the house provided for ample accommodations.

We had our whole family 4 adult couples. Everyone had their own space but plenty of room to be together. Great kitchen for cooking. Was surprised with some local goodies. Great music system and loved the fireplace because our weather was cool and very windy with rain. Great memories were made in Doolin.

If you have the chance to spend any time at this home, make it a priority. The location is stunning and the house is beautiful and updated. We loved being here and it served as a great starting point for all of our adventures: exploring Doolin, day drive to Connemara National Park, hike around the Burren, ferry to Inishmore, hiking and ferry visit to the Cliffs of Moher. Just an ideal spot to see so much of the country.

Wonderful location, close to all the local "establishments" and tourist attractions. Houses are clean, well kept, warm, comfortable, a home away from home !!!

"Exceptional" We absolutely loved this house! It is immaculate and the interiors are impeccable. We were genuinely taken aback on arrival. The rooms are similar to those found in a 5 star hotel! So many nice touches - wireless speaker, Nespresso machine, fancy toiletries (in each of the 4 bathrooms). I was concerned about the number of bathrooms as this was not mentioned - however there are 4 in total. 2 ensuite rooms and a main bathroom on each floor! The view from the garden is spectacular and can be appreciated from all the upstairs bedrooms. Super cosy, we found it hard to leave. But it was a treat to come back to after our cliff walk. Would highly recommend - we are trying to plan a return trip already! Julia was also a very helpful host, could not have asked for more!

We had a very enjoyable weekend in Hawthorn Cottage, the property is truly amazing and everything you could need was in the house. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Great location for site seeing the Clare Area , distant views of the sea. Very quiet location but only 5 minutes from Doolin village. We even extended our weekend to Wednesday as we were having such a lovely relaxing time. Definitely worth staying here for an adult family of 7
