Country House & Gardens: Cork

This modern stone farmhouse which is over 200 years old has been recently renovated. There is underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and a wood-burning stove in the large open plan kitchen/living area which has stunning views of the sea. The house can sleep 10 with four bedrooms and a snug room that has a sofa bed as well as 3 bathrooms. The village is a short walk which hosts a shop, 2 pubs (1 with a restaurant) and a cafe in Castletownshend Castle. One of the ensuite bedrooms is located on the ground floor for easy access.

We have just arrived home from a week in Lakka House. It was just idyllic. Every morning a coffee on the terrace with that view was magical. So much space around for the family to spread out. Very difficult not to fall in love with this place. We will be back.

Stayed here last year. What a find! There were 8 of us in total. Plenty of space, beautifully furnished. Couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended.
