Cottage in Scottish Borders: Scottish Borders

Located just across from the entrance to Branxholme Castle lies this single storey, cosy retreat offering guests a unique opportunity to enjoy the grounds and facilities of the historic castle s stunning estate. The cottage is perfect for couples seeking a peaceful escape providing ample opportunity for rest and relaxation. For those looking for more adventure, the cottage is well situated to explore Teviotdale and the Scottish Borders and makes a wonderful base for exploring beautiful gentle walks in and around the historic towns of Hawick (3 miles) and Jedburgh (14 miles). If you fancy a bigger walk pick up the Borders Abbey Way in Hawick that takes you to Selkirk or gently meander along the picturesque trails that line River Teviot. If you're keen to learn more about the history of the area you can visit Floors Castle & Gardens in Kelso (26 miles) that sits proudly on the banks of the River Tweed. The cottage's interior is a great blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. After a long day, unwind in your own private hot tub before heading inside to light the wood burner and settle into the comfortable sofas and chairs to watch your favourite movie on the Smart TV. There is a well equipped kitchen where you can prepare warming candle lit dinners to enjoy at the dining table before retiring to the stunning stone built 'Bothy' with its own bar area, dart board, log burner and Bluetooth music system. When you are ready to retire you will find two bedrooms, one king size and one with zip and link twin beds, with beautiful interiors and bed linens with a chest of draws, and plenty of hanging space. Finally completing the accommodation is the downstairs shower room. Heading outside there is a hot tub and seating area, or guests can choose to take a leisurely stroll through the estate s beautiful gardens before sampling some delicious sweet treats and local produce in The Orangery, the castle s very own coffee shop with grand views across the castle s lawns. For some proper deep relaxation guests can also while away their time unwinding in the castle s very own luxury spa which includes treatments, a steam room, and a relaxation room.
