Thirlestane Castle is only 8 miles away, an impressive 16th Century castle set in the grounds of Lauderdale Estate where you can enjoy woodland walks. This area is known for its historic castles and big houses and within 30 minutes you can also explore Floors Castle & Gardens in Kelso and Abbotsford. If you fancy a city day out instead then Edinburgh is less than 25 miles away offering a host of activities and entertainment, including museums, art galleries, historical buildings and stunning gardens.
