Cottage in Cumbria: Cumbria

Escape to this charming, traditional cottage nestled in the picturesque village of Grasmere, perfect for a tranquil Lakeland retreat. Dating back to 1821 this delightful period cottage, accommodating four guests, is situated a short level walk from the heart of Grasmere village, just 4 miles from Ambleside. The village offers a variety of independent shops, galleries, and eateries, including the famous gingerbread shop. You are free to enjoy the scenic walks around Grasmere lake and Rydal Water, explore the Wordsworth Daffodil Garden, or embark on a delightful ramble directly from your doorstep, such as the trails up to Silver How and Loughrigg or over to Elterwater. A short drive to Ambleside provides additional shopping, dining, and pub options. You can also extend your adventure by visiting Lake Windermere, about 12 miles away, where you can take a cruise on England s largest lake, stroll along its shores, rent bicycles, or try out various water sports. The market town of Keswick is just a short drive away to the north. After unloading your bags at the front door you are welcomed into this delightfully renovated 19th Centuary cottage, with an open plan kitchen / dining room, this is truly the heart of the house. Amply equipped with everything you need to dine in and entertain. Just off from here you can also find the utility room, with washer dryer and separate WC. On the same floor you are beckoned into the cosy lounge, with plenty of seating for four. Evenings can be enjoyed cosied up in front of the log burning stove whilst watching your favourite film. Heading up the staircase lies the first of the two bedrooms, a delightful super king size bedroom which makes use of the family bathroom, complete with tub style bath and walk in shower. The master bedroom is a spacious king size with a stunningly tiled en suite bathroom with shower over bath. Beautifully complimenting the interiors of this property is the cottage garden. Set into the side of the fell, the garden is the perfect place to sit back and soak up the sunshine whilst lunch is enjoyed al fresco.
