Connemara Escape: Galway

Luxurious self-catering accommodation in a spectacular setting for groups of up to 36 guests.

This unique vacation rental is on the edge of Connemara's majestic Killary Fjord, on the Wild Atlantic, and just outside the scenic and picturesque village of Leenane in Connemara.

The lodge features a bespoke fully equipped kitchen with a large dining area. A stylish lounge opens out onto an extensive outdoor area, complete with outdoor seating and two fire pits, with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and sea - the perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down, surrounded by nature. Each of the ten spacious ensuite bedrooms is individually designed with bespoke features. If you need a bit of time out, you can curl up with a good book in one of our funky reading nooks. The lodge also has a large conference room/studio that can be customised to your needs - perfect as a conference room, yoga studio, or workshop space - opening out onto an outdoor workspace.

The Lodge is situated in a nature lover's paradise. There are numerous walks and hikes nearby, in the mountains, through forests, trails and beaches, as well as endless cycling routes and lots of swimming options, both in the fjord and at nearby beaches. Connemara National Park is 15km away.

If you are looking for adventure, you are in the right place. Killary Adventure Centre is just a 10-minute walk away, offering a whole range of activities from kayaking to archery, paintballing to rock-climbing, gorge walking to bog swimming, all available to book seven days a week (activities available will vary during the winter months). Regular boat trips on the fjord are also available to book. Also on-site is the Misunderstood Heron - an award-winning food truck serving up great coffee and freshly made, locally sourced food, all day.

The Lodge is available on a self-catering basis or can be fully staffed with catering provided. Just contact us to discuss your requirements. You will be welcomed and provided with keys on arrival and will have access to the whole building for the duration of your stay. There will always be someone on hand to answer any questions, so please don't hesitate to ask.

Fantastic location and property for a large family group (34). Cool rooms, lovely outdoor areas, well equipped. Only quibble - could do with a second dishwasher and oven is slow to cook. Killary Adventure Centre is next door and great for activities. Misunderstood Heron will cater to this house. Really memorable stay and would highly recommend

"Killlary Fiord" One of the most impressive parts of Connemara. We stayed here for a week and had the most amazing time. Accommodation is truly out of this world, with ten spacious ensuite bedrooms - more than enough space for our group. everything was perfect. 5 stars all round!

Stayed here for 5 nights with a group of 18 colleagues. Had ther most wonderful time. House is immaculately kept, everything we needed was catered for. Can highly recommend this rental. The surrounding countryside is spectacular

You need to see this place to appreciate its style space and privacy. We had 14 adults and 7 kids under 12 or which 5 were under 5 and the lodge is that big, coupled with the unpredictable west of Ireland weather, that the kids could play indoors if needed. Unfortunately we should have booked for longer and done some more of the activities but all in all the place is amazing and we’ll definitely be back. Definitely get the misunderstood heron for grub too.

Great space for a large family/group. The rooms are very flexible for lots of people/room. Kitchen great, and Misunderstood Heron catering was terrific. Amazing experience.

Everything was perfect! I can’t recommend the Lodge enough. The activities onsite were so much fun and so easy to access. The lodge itself is stylish, spacious and so well equipped. Everyone loved it and had a fantastic stay. The communication with the office was also great and I couldn’t have asked for more! 5 stars
