We stayed in the self-catering apartments for a mid-week break recently and although the weather was disappointing we had a very enjoyable stay. The apartments were clean, cosy and well equipped. The breakfast box mentioned in other post is a nice touch. The kids club is a great feature of the hotel and our kids loved the swimming pool. The staff are very helpful especially the young kids club staff but I felt a bit sorry for them having to cater for children of different ages. The special events that ran every evening were very popular and well attended, they included a movie night and magician show. The Killary cruise from Leenane is a great way to spend an afternoon and is approximately 40 mins drive from Clifden. A drive around the coast visiting the many lovely beaches is another worthwhile day out. We found a lovely family run pub called “the Central” in Clifden town. It is located beside the much mentioned and busy “Guys “restaurant. “The Central” has a very relaxed atmosphere and a home cooked menu with the fish particularly enjoyable. All in all, the station house hotel allows for a very enjoyable stay to explore the Clifden and wider Connemara region.

We stayed in self catering apartments - a family of 6. Nice welcome pack on arrival. Spacious apartment for a family set on 2 floors, Bottom floor had well equipped kitchen and living area, a single bedroom and a downstairs toilet. Upstairs had a double room, a twin room with space for an extra camp bed and an ensuite and also a good size bathroom. Leisure facilities very good, pool, sauna etc and location was close to everything. Would visit again.

Excellent weekend at Clifden Station House. Great location, great facilities, great bar, great food and very friendly staff. We stayed in the self catering and it had everything you need. What more can I say. Eddie and the gang.

I had business to attend to for one week in February and chose the self-catering option as it appeared cheaper. Great little apartment, clean, warm and well equipped. Gentleman who showed me around pointed out welcome pack, bread, butter, milk, cookies - nice touch, but I could not avail because I can't eat gluten. I asked him to take them away lest they go to waste. Darned key card would not work on TWO different evenings, and since there is a bit of a hike between hotel reception (where you check in for the apartments) and the apartment itself, I phoned over to explain my dilemma - I'm stuck in the rain here! (and no, I did not store the key card with my phone - Oh, wait, maybe I did). Fair enough, someone was over in a flash, great service. But the next day, the key again failed and this time I was sure to keep it separate from my phone. Took a little longer this time, but someone did come, very apologetic and all that. Then I discovered that some kind soul had dropped Crunchie bars in for me - they are gluten-free, nice touch. The walls are a tad thin, so you can hear your neighbours flushing the loo, and shouting at the kids, but that did not spoil my stay as it was seldom an issue.

I have been staying in The Clifden Station House Complex (hotel and apartments) for the past 12 years. On this occasion, we spent a week in the two bedroom self catering apartments. The apartment was spotlessly clean, very spacious and very well equipped. The Wifi was excellent. The housekeeping staff are very attentive and cater for your every need. There is no difficulty if you have a visitor and need an additional bed. They will deliver it and fresh linen with a welcoming smile. On arrival there is a welcome pack waiting for you, so breakfast is sorted for the first few days. One evening 6 of ate in The Station House Bar. There were 2 young children, a teenager and 3 adults. The food was very tasty, plentiful and caters very well for every age group. The wine is very reasonably priced. Visitors staying in the apartments have access to the Leisure Centre. Very well laid out leisure facilities and great to have on a wet day. We were so well looked after and had such a relaxing time.
