The Greek living we dream of on cold winter days is brought to life in this villa on the Liakias peninsular. Days are filled with blue; the turquoise swimming pool, the cerulean sky, and the aquamarine Ionian sea.

The home has been designed for holidays, with simple pine furniture, comfy sofas, and monochrome prints on the walls. However, it still feels homely despite its seasonal use, with wrought-iron bed frames and deep baths to soak in.

The real scene-stealer? Out on the long front balcony, which has prime views over the ocean and across to Zante. Thanks to the quiet location, it's easy to relax – whether you're swimming lengths in the pool, curling up with a book on the terrace, or sneaking in a siesta on the daybeds. For the adventurous, a rocky outcrop is a few metres down the hill, from which you can dive straight into the sea. Or why not head into Spartia, a five-minute drive away? Here you'll find shops, eateries and a picturesque sandy beach to enjoy in the Kefalonia sunshine.
