Area
Osmington village, is situated on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth wher you will find an glorious beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories. Booked this holiday through Dream Cottages, the house was exceptional and very well equipt. We did however have a few problems which the local Weymouth office was very poor to respond to us.When we contacted the main office in Chester they were very helpful and contacted the owner on our behalf , who were most accommodating and understanding . Would recommend this property to anyone

The property was a dream, and was better than the photographs.. There were 10 of us and because of the size of the house we didn't get under each other's feet at all. The open plan kitchen, dining area and seating area was perfect and we spent a lot of time there. The pool was great and although maintenance was carried out every morning we weren't aware of it as there was a separate entrance, even though the pool was attached to the property. The situation of the property was great too, and there were lovely walks around the vicinity, and just a 20 minute walk or so to the beach, which was quiet, probably because of the steep steps at the end of the walk.

The house was very well equipped, although if we found fault it was that there was not a pair of oven gloves, the knives for cooking were very blunt, and the tin opener didn't work. As a family we all enjoy cooking, so did notice this, otherwise there were stacks of glasses, china and cutlery etc. The large fridge freezer in the utility room was great too for the overflow from the kitchen fridge freezer.

Practically perfect in every way!!

This lovely house was everything we could have wished for.. Plenty of room for everyone to sit together and socialise in comfort.
Pool was lovely and kept at the right temperature so the babies didn't get too cold.
All the bedrooms were lovely and beds very comfy.
The kitchen was beautiful and functional. There are plenty of food storage cupboards and fridge freezers, and all necessary kitchen equipment etc.
A couple of minor problems were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Thank you.
