Barn in Mid Wales: Monmouthshire

Set within private grounds, two beautiful old barns have been cleverly and stylishly connected to create a gorgeous family home, complete with stunning views. Finished to a high standard, this property provides maximum style and comfort. On the natural border between England and Wales with Offa's Dyke just a little further up the hill, this house is perfectly located with incredible walks and mountain bike trails right from the door. The Black Mountains are fabulous by horseback and there are numerous riding stables nearby. Llanthony Abbey is 6 mikes from your doorstep. There are Norman Castles littered throughout the landscape and Raglan, Grosmont, Skenfrith and White Castle, are all within easy reach, perfect for a day out exploring the Borders. Towns nearby include Abergavenny with its castle, shops and restaurants just 15 mins by car whilst the Cathedral cities of Brecon and Hereford are just 30 minutes away. The region is great for walking, has a wealth of mountain bike trails within the area as well as canoeing through the Wye Valley. This is a stunningly beautiful property in a secluded position and surrounded by lovely countryside. A much loved home full of family photos and containing everything you will need for a perfect stay. The Wi fi is sometimes patchy and due to the rural location, the showers are sometimes less than powerful but we know you will find this to be a gorgeous barn with a stunning view in the Black Mountains, as have the many guests before. Inside are many internal steps. From the front door, a stone stairway leads down to a cosy den with TV, DVD Wi Fi and Sky Sports. A few steps up and you reach the fabulously cosy drawing room with shelves full of books and a warming open fire with plenty of chairs gathered around for a lovely lazy afternoon or evening. There is also a spacious and stylish open plan kitchen diner which is found three steps down from the drawing room interlinked with this is large sitting room which is a beautiful glass conservatory which houses a comfortable corner sofa and wood burning stove. The kitchen is well equipped with Lacanche electric range, dishwasher and there is a microwave available with the adjacent Swedish dining table having ample space for 12 guests. Two double bedrooms are accessed on this side of the house via the stairs from the sitting room at the side of the kitchen/diner and are made up with super king size beds (which can be made into twins by request at the time of booking). There is a bathroom with roll top bath and shower. On the other side of the house is the master bedroom with super king size bed and en suite bathroom with interconnecting single bedroom which are on the same level as the entrance way. A further flight of stairs leads to two more super king sized rooms (which can be made into twins on request at time of booking) with another bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower. Outside there is some fabulous outdoor furniture on the terrace as well as private grounds complete with trampoline, swing and sledges in winter months. There is also a BBQ. The property has a long farm driveway, so please be aware that it gets muddy in bad weather pack some wellies!
