We spent the first night of our honeymoon 50 years ago at the Randolph. We thought it would be good to go back to celebrate our Golden Anniversary. I have to say we certainly weren't disappointed. Our suite was lovely and overlooked the Ashmolean Museum. The staff were very courteous, addressing us by our name and made us feel very special. My husband had a mobility scooter and the doorman with the top hat took it away for storage and recharging, with a will, nothing was too much trouble. In the restaurant the staff were very pleasant with Rohit making a special effort to help us celebrate our anniversary. Our request for a special item was fulfilled and made our weekend. Well done everyone.

“Gothic Charm”
Our classic room was stylish (newly refurbished) and spacious with a very comfortable king sized bed. It had a lovely view of the Ashmolean Museum and was surprisingly quiet for a city centre hotel.
I would recommend using the central staircase as it is quite beautiful with gothic windows and arches.
There is also a “rogues gallery” of former celebrity guests which is in a corridor adjacent to the Drawing Room. Quite interesting if you have time.
We had lunch in Acanthus which I have reviewed separately.
There is parking at the hotel, however this needs to be pre-booked (asap) as spaces are limited. The nearest car park is on Gloucester Street.

“Always a pleasure”
Just a great hotel. Old school charm and service. They were kind enough to upgrade our room on this trip but we would always choose this hotel when staying in Oxford. The location is perfect, and don't miss a drink in the Morse bar!
