Excellent hotel in a fabulous location.
Service was top notch, efficient and friendly without being stuffy.
Room overlooking ocean was amazing and the design ensures that every room and balcony is very private. I loved the Irish tweed throw which was lovely to snuggle under while sitting in the armchair reading my book, looking out to sea.
I’d highly recommend doing The Cliff Walk which takes in St. Declan’s Well, Samson Shipwreck and the Round-tower and Monastery in Ardmore. We were lucky with the weather but this would be lovely in any weather. Use the complimentary wellies provided by the hotel as parts are a little muddy if you don’t have appropriate foot ware with you.
We dined in the bar for lunch and evening meals and in the restaurant for breakfast. Both were well designed and food was very good. I loved the Baked Hake with lemon mash. My hasband was a little underwhelmed by The Full Irish Breakfast, in particular the sausage.
The Wellness area is also very well designed, ensuring every area overlooks the sea. I prefer light and airy spa facilities as you can see how clean the facility is. This was spotless! Would highly recommend spending time here- the pool, sauna, steam room and outdoor jacuzzi are all complimentary as part of your stay. I didn’t venture to the gym area so cannot comment on this. I enjoyed the two treatments I went for, seaweed bath and a package that involved back scrub, back massage, facial, head message and manicure. This was two hours of Pure Bliss. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable and very relaxing stay. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes.
