The Merchant Hotel was classical elegance at its best. Well worthy of its five star status. The price reflects the lofty standards that are laid on for the fortunate visitor. I could write a book about my experience at the merchant and would be hard pushed to present a negative comment. A marvelous stay that will be difficult to beat.

"30th Birthday" My partner and I stayed for two nights at The Merchant Hotel, for his 30th Birthday. The reception staff were lovely and welcomed us to Belfast, and the room was amazing! The Breakfast in The Great Room is table service, the food was lovely and staff were great! My partner received a balloon, card and chocolates on the evening of his Birthday. The hotel itself, in the heart of the city, was an experience like no other, and I would definitely recommend to stay here if visiting Belfast.

Wonderful as always My husband and I stayed here the night of our wedding 4 years ago and returned this week with our 6mo on his first trip to NI. From check in the staff were more than welcoming, in the room along with his travel cot they had left some baby toiletries which although was a very nice touch. The staff at breakfast and in the lobby were all very friendly towards both us and our little one, making an effort to engage with him when they went past which he loved! Will definitely be back!

"Still fabulous" I visited several years ago and had a fabulous stay...would the Merchant still be as good. The answer is a resounding yes. The staff and service is exceptional. The hotel has retained its class and luxury. The Art Deco rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The beds gave a great nights sleep. The bathroom is also spacious with a separate bath and shower. The breakfast in the great room sets you up for the day. The bar also does great cocktails. I can’t wait to go back.

A Perfect Honeymoon Stay What can we say?
We’ve heard so many great things about this hotel and it did not disappoint.
On arrival we were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite for our honeymoon which was a lovely touch.
All staff were so attentive and you can see why this is a 5 star hotel.
The cocktail bar is a must try, and the breakfast in the morning was out of this world.
The little touches of a turndown service and complimentary paper in the morning really made a difference!
If you also get a chance check out the watch boutique ‘Pride and Pinion’ in the hotel - really great guys with an outstanding knowledge and collection of watches!
I can not recommend this hotel enough and can not wait to come back and stay for our anniversary!!

Possibly the most beautiful entrance to a hotel I’ve ever seen. I can’t speak to the hotel itself but we came in for drinks and late appetizers in the side bar and the place is just amazing, goldleaf ceilings that are 40 feet high mash with very comfortable couches and a great cheese plate and wine selection, definitely something to at least see and check out for drinks or a meal if you’re not staying.

juliemew Dublin, Ireland 1821 Reviewed 2 weeks ago Divine Stayed here for the weekend for my Birthday in June. Have eaten and had drinks in the hotel before but this was the first time I stayed. It definitely won't be the last. the hotel is amazing with the best service I have ever experienced, the staff were beyond friendly and helpful and very genuine. The rooms are amazing and the bathroom was beautiful. The lobby area is so stunning and the breakfast there was fabulous. They also have a lovely rooftop hot tub which was super fab. Can't wait to go back. The only negative things was it was a little noisy at night as the hotel is so central and there are a few lively pubs around. All in all it didn't bother me too much and it certainly wouldn't stop be coming back.
