Naomi and I have a fab 2-night break at Ashford Castle. This is undoubtedly one of the finest venues in Europe complete with friendly and professional service fine dining and first-class amenities. We watched the Irelan v. England rugby game in the lavish cinema and enjoyed room service round the clock - can't wait to return - If you really want a luxury experience it would be hard to beat!

"Amazing, simply amazing!" Unlike many expensive hotels, the staff is warm, welcoming, and the service is beyond compare, not at all snooty. The rooms are comfortable with great amenities. We had a lakeview room in the original 800 year old section of the castle. The view was mesmerizing. I could have just looked at it for days. I had to wonder what the original inhabitants would have thought about the heated bathroom floor, heated towel racks, and remote controlled shades etc! Dinner in the George V was expensive, but quite good. We also had dinner in “The Cottage” one night. They have some specialties there that are made from recipes created by the owner of the castle. The spring rolls, and the “frozen Irish coffee” are not to be missed. Breakfast in the George V dining room is extraordinary. In the time we were there, we were unable to try everything they had, it was an enormous selection, but what we did have was uniformly excellent. Each night we were there, the castle had live music in the drawing room across from the George V dining room. It is free, and we thought it was quite good, a delightful way to spend an hour or two after dinner. The “hawk walk” was a delight. It provided a wonderful education, and an extraordinary experience. It is extra, and must be reserved, but it is very much worth the price. Overall, five stars, only because there is no way to rate it higher!

"As amazing as I had hoped" We had the pleasure of staying at Ashford Castle for two nights earlier this month. All I can say is WOW! This is top notch service and accommodations all the way around. We were greeted at the gate and told someone would be waiting for us and to head to the castle. We stopped and were welcomed by name and told Martin would be waiting for us. We were greeted by name again. It's the little things like this show you there attention to details that make you feel special. Martin escorted us to Christine who took excellent care getting our room for us. Martin took our keys, had someone get our bags to our room and parked our car for us. Tristan took us to our room and explained the castle along the way, also showing us restaurants, bars, etc. All of those people I mentioned were exceptional. The food at the three different restaurants we frequented were great. When you go to the bar you must order the Walled Garden Lemonade. The presentation to phenomenal! The grounds are impeccable. We also did the Hawk Walk at the School of Falconry. It's a must do. The evening before our last night, we asked what time they thought we should leave to get to the airport for our flight. Since it was before breakfast was being served, she said they would have boxed lunches and drinks ready for us to take in the morning. When we went to the lobby in the morning, our car was already at the front. The gentleman who escorted us out had our boxed breakfasts with him along with water. What service! The castle and the above and beyond service they provided were the highlight of our trip to Ireland.

"World class hotel!" Magnificent hotel in amazing setting. Stayed a full week and had lots to do each day. Staff is gracious and polite. They learned our names and called us by name starting the second day. Do not miss the golfing, hawk walk, cycling, formal gardens, afternoon tea, and walking to Cong. Breakfast is wonderful. Dinner at Cullen’s was a lot better than the dungeon or Wilde’s. George V is a little formal for our taste, but excellent food. Annette Griffin entertains in the parlor after dinner with Irish folk songs. Always a memorable evening. Looking forward to returning.

"Castle of your Dreams!" For the vacation spot of a lifetime spend a few days at Ashford Castle in Cong, Ireland. It is a 5 star hotel worth every star. The service is impeccable and the rooms are elegant beyond words. The activities available are truly exceptional such as the falconry School. Holding these marvelous hawks and seeing them as they perch on your arm is almost overwhelming. Horse riding, fishing, strolling about beautiful gardens, golfing, riding the ferry to an island while being serenaded by a wonderful elderly Irish singer with a squeezebox, or viewing where "The Quiet Man" was filmed are all available. This is a fantastic and truly unique hotel.

"Pure luxury!" Stayed for a romantic mini break with my hubby. Everything about our stay was amazing. The service was faultless. The staff knew us by name and we greeted us whenever we were in the dining room. We had the tasting menu for dinner and really enjoyed the whole experience. The bedroom was so luxurious although it was probably one of the smaller ones in the castle. We had great fun in the billiards room and the bar man was very friendly - he'd lots of interesting stories to share. We loved the whole experience and hopefully will be back again.

A Fairytail Castle This has to be the most beautiful place in Ireland. As you enter the gated drive with a member of staff to greet you, you just know you are in for something special. The setting is magnificent. The castle superb and nothing lets it down in any way. The staff are just first class as you would expect. You are treated with such respect, yes you are paying for it, but few places deliver, Ashford does. A fantastic week for a special occasion.
