One of Kerry's best group accommodation options for large families and tour groups. Idyllically set in 40 acres of woodland, this 18th-century manor house overlooks the River Laune in Killarney, County Kerry. Originally a castle, the property now provides luxury self-catering accommodation for up 30 to guests.
This historic property dates back to 1598 when in 1760 the present house was built with the remaining three walls of the castle forming the hallway, which makes it probably the oldest inhabited space in Kerry.
In 1840 the interior was altered and the chimney-pieces and plaster-work date from this time.
Accommodation: Along with the main house, there are four self-catering cottages. The main house sleeps 8, and one of the cottages also sleeps 8. One cottage sleeps 6, and two cottages sleep four each.
Main House: Wholly refurbished in recent years it's now available for holiday rentals, offering four large double bedrooms, each with king-size beds convertible to twin (two single beds) and en-suite bathroom. Reception rooms include a drawing room, library and formal dining room.
Cottages: In 1998 the 18th century stone courtyard was converted to provide additional accommodation in four superbly appointed cottages. The largest, Laune, has four bedrooms, Flesk has three bedrooms, and Torc and Keal each have two bedrooms.
The comfortable sitting rooms have warm, open fires, CD stereos, televisions and video recorders. Each cottage also has a utility room with washing machine. The two larger cottages have exceptionally spacious dining areas and sitting rooms, ideal for entertaining.
All the bedrooms are equally spacious with king size beds, convertible to twin, and every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. We provide all linen including Egyptian cotton bed linen and bath towels but beach towels are not provided.
The kitchen/dining room areas open on to south or west facing terraces with views to the mountains. The kitchens are equipped with gas hobs, double ovens, microwaves and dishwashers.

"Family Reunion" My family of 30 spent a week here. It was awesome! Donald and Tim we're very easy to work with and we're very helpful with recommendations. The property was perfect - every bedroom has it's own bath and Kerry was Central to all of our travelling. It also gave us a space large enough for a couple of family evenings. We can't thank you enough for helping make our trip so wonderful!

"Most wonderful house in the most magically place" Myself and my now beautiful Wife rented the entire property last year. It’s not like any other place I have ever stayed. The house itself is just out of this world. It makes you feel like you have your own Downton Abbey all to yourselves. It’s was very homely at the same time. We had all our family and friends down and we got married in the garden. People still talk about how they went to the most magical wedding they have ever been to when they came here. It’s so hard to describe this amazing house. The people who own it have created a magically stay. With the most important fact is that you could relax so easily so as to soak up the beauty that’s around you. I'll never forget the experience. It was truly magical!

"The BEST!!!" We just returned from 2 weeks at Beaufort House, which was a wonderful base for 8 of us to golf and sight see in the Killarney area. We stayed in the Main House and could not have been more comfortable. Donald and Rachel have thought of everything as the house has all you need as well as many personal touches such as great beds, luxurious towels and fresh cut flowers. We are in the hospitality business ourselves and it is easy to see they take great pride in their establishment and want everyone to enjoy it as much as they do themselves. Plus they are always around to answer questions and make suggestions for outings and restaurants. Noreen, the housekeeper, is a cheerful presence every morning, making our beds and tidying up- always asking if we needed anything. We could not have asked for more. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Rented the main house and cottages for our family vacation with 25 of us. We loved our accommodations. Rachel and Donald were always present when needed but never intrusive. The grounds are spectacular and much pride is taken in keeping them meticulous. Location is central to many day trips. We loved having our own space and also having a central gathering space that accommodated all of us. I would highly recommend a stay here!!
