Restaurant FortyOne: Dublin

Rarely does a month pass without Restaurant FortyOne scooping another award for its fine-dining. Under the expert guidance of rising talent Graham Neville, the restaurant has flourished in the last three years, with The Irish Times describing the menu as "splendid, impeccable, elegant, perfect" and The Irish Independent praising the restaurant's "air of luxury and comfort" and the "beautifully presented, perfect" food.

Eschewing butter and sugar in favour of olive oil, vegetable and fruit juices — sourced from its very own garden — Graham and his team create fulsome courses, boasting delicate and elegant tastes with sumptuous depth. To complement the incredible edibles, sommelier Victor Nedelea provides a breathtaking, world-class wine list, including rare wine and small wine producers. The staff, meanwhile, are attentive and mindful.

This is fine-dining without the stuffiness.

The restaurant can host up to 52 guests in the front and main room, with an additional two private dining rooms (with both catering for up to 10 guests each). Tasting menus and special requests are willingly accommodated, and wine tastings and dinner evenings are always available.

Our welcoming team is proud to have recently hosted US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on her visit to Dublin.

Elegant Setting / Elegant Dining The Restaurant FortyOne experience begins as you approach a classic Georgian townhouse facing St. Stephen's Green in the Heart of Dublin. FortyOne is a fine dining experience in an elegant setting. The staff is attentive and quite knowledgeable regarding both the wine selections and the menu. They were very helpful in ensuring our dining experience was perfect. The wine selection is extensive, but we were able to find a wine that would suit our dining selections. Our starter was one of the most creative and delicious we enjoyed during our two week visit to Ireland. Part of our trip was devoted to making the rounds of a variety of fine dining venues. The Starter: Seared Yellow Fin Tuna, Sesame, Avocado, Tuna Mayonnaise, Yuzu Jelly - truly a delight. It is simply a dish you do not forget. Like all FortyOne menu treats, the presentation was lovely. For our entrées we had Quail Wellington, Seared Foie Gras, Pickled Gooseberries, Leg Ragout, Madeira Jus - a special that evening and it is truly "special." We also had the Fillet of O’Coilleains Beef, Short Rib, Sprouting Broccoli, Bone Marrow and Hazelnut Crumb which was perfectly prepared pink and clearly some of the finest beef available anywhere. Pictures are included with this review. For a truly fine dining experience we found the pricing to be appropriate. Yes, it was expensive, but we truly received value for our fine dining euro. We would highly recommend Restaurant FortyOne and would also suggest booking ahead at this popular venue.

"Judgement of Paris Evening....Wonderful fun" Returned to one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin for a dinner organised by the establishment. Great food, great wine, lovely guests and as always the wonderful Victor, whose wine knowledge and enthusiasm is both refreshing and informative. Well worth a treat. Staff, I have found to always be pleasant and friendly.

50th celebrations My sisters took me here in Jan 2017 on a day trip to Dublin, to celebrate my 50th Birthday. What an amazing meal we had. The service was next to none along with the food. Everything had an exquisite feel to it alongside professional and friendly service. I felt like a queen dining there. Definitely recommend it

Fantastic fine dining experience After five weeks traveling around Ireland, I ate at dozens and dozens of restaurants, Restaurant FortyOne was one of the best. Located in a cool history building, the atmosphere is formal, but not stuffy and is very comfortable. The service was stupendous and the food was outstanding. Have a look at some of my photos.
