Elegant Setting / Elegant Dining
The Restaurant FortyOne experience begins as you approach a classic Georgian townhouse facing St. Stephen's Green in the Heart of Dublin. FortyOne is a fine dining experience in an elegant setting.
The staff is attentive and quite knowledgeable regarding both the wine selections and the menu. They were very helpful in ensuring our dining experience was perfect. The wine selection is extensive, but we were able to find a wine that would suit our dining selections.
Our starter was one of the most creative and delicious we enjoyed during our two week visit to Ireland. Part of our trip was devoted to making the rounds of a variety of fine dining venues. The Starter: Seared Yellow Fin Tuna, Sesame, Avocado, Tuna Mayonnaise, Yuzu Jelly - truly a delight. It is simply a dish you do not forget. Like all FortyOne menu treats, the presentation was lovely.
For our entrées we had Quail Wellington, Seared Foie Gras, Pickled Gooseberries, Leg Ragout, Madeira Jus - a special that evening and it is truly "special." We also had the Fillet of O’Coilleains Beef, Short Rib, Sprouting Broccoli, Bone Marrow and Hazelnut Crumb which was perfectly prepared pink and clearly some of the finest beef available anywhere. Pictures are included with this review.
For a truly fine dining experience we found the pricing to be appropriate. Yes, it was expensive, but we truly received value for our fine dining euro. We would highly recommend Restaurant FortyOne and would also suggest booking ahead at this popular venue.
