Booked parrots bistro for a birthday lunch on jan1 .It was a festive menu so limited choice. But what a disappointing experience. From the time we entered the hotel to the time we left. We were shown to our table with no offer of our coats to be hung up.We then waited ten minutes before a waitress came to the table with menus. We had to press an order of drinks on her,but this order was forgotten about. We were presented with starters,(clearly not ours)as we hadn’t ordered from the menu yet !We eventually got our drinks on the third request.and ordered our food . Starters were fine, a lovely smoked salmon, and an ardsallagh goats cheese.Main courses sad.,warm ,mediocre, and not worthy of the Perrott. We had to request condiments which couldn’t be found ,we directed the staff to an empty table and got condiments, we asked for cranberry sauce, again forgotten and had to be requested a second time. It was all such an effort.!Again desserts and tea were fine but standard mediocre. It was one of the parties birthday and the restaurant presented a lovely plate with a happy birthday message in chocolate sauce . All in all a very disappointing birthday lunch.Staff were plentiful, pleasant but service haphazard.they did not appear to be working as a team. There did not seem to be anyone directing staff.

Where to begin - The place is visually stunning with a relaxed and chilled atmosphere. Went here for lunch with my girlfriend and could not be any happier from every aspect from COVID regulations, service, venue, meal and wine selections. The two waitresses Ellie and Oraith where friendly and very professional. The starter of heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad was amazing and very light and refreshing then the mains of pan seared cod with gnocchi samphire cooked to absolute perfection. Then the desserts which were the perfect way to end a meal. Trying to find a fault in this experience is impossible as everything was catered for by the two servers mentioned above who went above and beyond to make sure that everyone was taken care of. Worth a trip here for a great fine dining experience with impeccable service.

The fish dishes are melt in the mouth gorgeous, starters and mains. Personally my favourite was the semifreddo Bruce. I never tasted the likes. Divine

Recently returned to the Hayfield Manor and once again enjoyed an absolutely delightful and delicious meal in Perrotts restaurant. The service is outstanding and as for the food mmmmm its a culinary delight. Special mention to Orlaith our waitress for the evening she was so friendly and very welcoming it was a delight to chat with herself and listen to the recommendations so thank you. The halibut was unbelievable and as for the desserts they are still on my mind since then. Hoping for a quick return for sure thank you to all.

Best meal so far in 2020
We had a top class dinner here recently. Every aspect of our meal was amazing- setting, ambiance, service, wine list and most of all the food. Covid 19 restrictions did not impact in any way. A special meal to remember.

"Superb food with friendly staff"
My wife and 2 children had dinner here on November Friday evening and enjoyed it very much. I thought the kids food was really nice, also nice to see healthy options on the menu. The kids loved their smoothie starter. For the adults as well the food was really nice, with as highlight the duck. Although dinning with children can sometimes be challenging, the staff did their upmost to make the experience as pleasant as possible.

The food was great, and the Staff amazing!
It’s easy to see why Perrotts is rated so highly - for me, and not to tale away from the food, it was the staff that made the experience great! They were attentive, interactive, and genuinely showed care in their work and conversations with us.

The food was also great, we had a three courses with wine, and coffee afterwards, and the bill was just over €120 - while on the higher end of a fine dining price list, it was worth it (every penny of it).

It was a busy enough start to the evening (we sat at 6pm) with several tables already seated, along with a table of 13, and this proved no issue for the staff, every table was seen to, and taken care of.

While the starters may seem small in portion size, they actually proved to be spot on as it set us up nicely for our mains (larger starters would have meant a full feeling by main course). The desserts were delicious and perfectly portioned also! Our mains were spot on also (we had the lamb, and an 8oz burger). And the wine was a perfect match too!

A perfect location for a treat or special occasion for sure!

"Great dinner at our hotel"
We arrived at Hayfield Manor hotel quite late after a day of driving, so we didn’t want to go back into town with the kids for dinner. Lucky for us the hotel has one of the best restaurants in town. The staff was welcoming and very professional, and we loved the fact that even though it’s quite a fancy place, the kids had lots to eat, and the waiters were great with them. The food was very well made, and the atmosphere was classy but informal. Ended up paying around 150 euros for 5 pp, and had a lovely dining experience.
