Park Hotel Restaurant: Kerry

Dining at the Park Hotel Kenmare is an experience in every sense. With its lovely views over Kenmare Bay an elegantly simple Lily Chandelier, blown specially for the room by Millers of Bond Street, typifies the detail of what happens under its discreet watch. The ever-changing menu that reflects the richness of the area is enhanced only by unfailing service and tantalising creations from the kitchen team led by Chef James Coffey.

The Park Hotel Kenmare food experience is rooted in what comes from the Kitchen garden and the local region. Park Hotel Kenmare brings together a collection of local and artisan producers. The fisherman, the cheesemaker, the dairy farmer, the baker, the market gardener, all local, all in season and bursting with flavour. Combine this with the kitchen team, Sommelier and Restaurant Manager all of who create a unique and wonderful experience in one of Ireland's most elegant dining rooms.

We ate here as a family and no one was disappointed with their meal or the experience. Frankly, the breakfast served here for hotel guests was also quite spectacular. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

"Excellent dinner"
Our dinner was excellent. Service was top notch! We had chateaubriand and ceasar salad tableside. We sat right next to the fire, while the piano player played nearby. We really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere and the fabulous staff in the dining room for both dinner and our breakfast every morning.

"Park Restaurant is Back!"
As i stated in my over all review of the Killarney Park Hotel, on a previous visit things had not gone well during meal in the Park Restaurant. My wife and I decided to give them another try on this visit and are we glad we did! The Park Restaurant is back! Service, food, wine, everything was a delight during our meal.

"Polished from start to finish"
We were lucky enough to find here as a result of a couple of other choices being closed. From the pre-dinner drinks to the post dinner coffee we were well looked after.

Lucas, our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly and enhanced a fantastic dining experience. My starter of hot smoked sea trout, salmon and textures of grapefruit was an exercise in balance and flavour. My wife's oxtail ravioli with rich oxtail essence was bold and delicate in equal measure.

For main courses, I had a perfectly cooked pigeon breast rested excellently and served with a lovely chocolate crisp sponge, Raspberry Jus and roast veg Fondant. My wife loved the halibut, peanut foam and roscoff onion, waxing lyrical on the cooking degree and the marriage of flavours. These were accompanied by balsamic glazed baby potatoes and divine orange scented Roasted chicory. Interspersed with a gorgeous Amuse Bouche of chicken consommé with black garlic foam and a light cherry Sorbet. Dessert topped the night off, a chocolate and passionfruit pave whilst the better half allowed no tasting of her rhubarb cremoux it was that good.

Fantastic dining experience, fantastic service, absolutely recommended!

Treat yourself to a stay at the Park Hotel
Recently spent a weekend in the Park for a special birthday. We were greeted by a lovely note and complimentary champagne in our spacious room, which had a stunning view over the bay and mountains. Yes, the hotel is an old building and very traditional, so different from a modern 5 star, but the service and food were excellent. We had the tasting menu and really enjoyed it. Great location for enjoying the lovely village of Kenmare which is blessed with great restaurants, and for touring this beautiful part of the country. Samas Spa experience was excellent. I look forward to returning to the Park.
