Maigue Restaurant: Limerick

To the delight of our guests, and to rave reviews, the Maigue Restaurant has the unique feature of carving your select roast rib of beef directly from the centre of the dining room every evening.

Set in the Dunraven Arms Hotel, overlooking traditional thatched cottages in the quaint village of Adare, the restaurant has an extensive wine list, knowledgeable, friendly staff and two private dining areas.

The atmosphere exudes class: guests are welcomed to a luxurious and traditional dining experience under crystal chandeliers and over tables gracefully set with crisp white linens and silver service.

Among many awards, the restaurant has been awarded the 'Best Breakfast in Ireland,' and this is reflected in the magnificent breakfast buffet and the baked Limerick ham cooked and carved every morning.

Enjoyed by locals and guests, Sunday lunch in the Maigue is still a great family tradition which has been looking after generations of diners.

The Maigue Restaurant has an excellent reputation for serving local and seasonal produce.

"Outstanding Food in an Elegant Atmosphere"
We ate two consequtive nights at The Maigue, the restaurant in the Dunraven Arms Hotel. The food is outstanding, with meat cooked perfectly, and the vegetables (small potatoes, carrots, turnips, broccoli, parsnips) are so delicious as to tempt one to become a vegetarian. The first night the service was slow, but I think there had been a disaster in the kitchen in that we heard a tremendous crash of what sounded like stacks of dishes falling down. But the host was well aware of the delays and did his best to make it up to the diners. On the second night, the proprietor of the hotel, "Louie," was in command and everything went like clockwork. "Louie" was actually slicing the prime rib from the serving cart himself, perfectly. The desserts are also very good--try the Wexford berries with cream. Reservations are a must, and the prices are in line with some of the smaller restaurants in Adare.
