Les Gourmandises

Les Gourmandises: Cork

This cute little restaurant will remind you of that perfect place you stumbled across in Paris once. Tables are shorn of starched white linen and sublime service is deceptively informal. The entire operation remains firmly rooted in the classical French culinary tradition. Altogether a 5 star gourmet experience.

Winner of 2012 “Best Restaurant in Cork“, “Best Restaurant in Munster” and “Best Chef in Cork” from the Restaurant Association of Ireland.

Prior to opening LG, 15-plus years ago, proprietors Pat and Soizic Kiely had stellar careers in multiple Michelin Star establishments, at home and abroad. They pride themselves on sourcing the best local ingredients Cork has to offer while matching them with quality International wines.

Les Gourmandises is a place Cork should be proud of!

Always insisting on the highest standards Always a great dining experience! One of my favourite places to eat in Cork. Chef recommendations are always fab! Looking forward to returning in March for a munch!” Less

A treat! “When I dine out, what I want most is to be treated to something I would not bother cooking at home; and this is exactly what I got in Les Gourmandises! Ok, so at just under €140 it wasn’t cheap but then this included a full, 3 course gourmet dinner for two and a decent bottle of wine plus a dessert wine and coffee. From the trio of starters which included wonderful foie gras and terrines (adapted without fuss to suit a gluten-free diet) to the main courses like works of art, to the selection of French cheeses, not to mention the pleasant and efficient service, this was a meal worth going out for! My only regret – that I didn’t try one of the delicious looking desserts as well! Maybe next time … and there will be a next time!rnMarie, Cork.”

“Flawless” Enjoyed my meal here with friend a few weeks back. We shared a tapas starter which had chicken liver parfait (usually I hate this but this was DIVINE) prawn, terrine, foie gras and a salmon mousse) for mains we both had fillet steak which was both flavoursome and cooked to perfection ... And we had some sides... New potatoes and asparagus with peas. So yummy. For dessert I had the pistachio creme brûlée which I can't wait to go back for. All washed down with some beautiful Malbec and a Syrah. Our friends joined us for wine and both found the wine excellent. The restaurant is very cosy and spotlessly clean . The service was very friendly , we were lucky enough to be served by the lovely Soizic who was amazing and very professional. She made it feel like an ease to order, as a chef I crumble when it comes to ordering because I am used to people ordering from me! She really made the experience so welcoming and enjoyable. All in all a 5 star experience and we are already chatting about when we will come back here, if your looking for great food, great wine and a great dining experience Les Gourmandises is a place Cork should be proud of! ❤️
