Great flavours, a convivial ambience and pleasant staff.
Blimey, some folk are hard to please!
My colleague and I arrived at this place, without a reservation and for the first time, around 7.30 last Tuesday.
The place was pretty busy, so we were offered a place at the bar, which we took and which was plenty comfortable.
We went for the Early-Bird - available till 8.00 (and not the daft 6.30 time-limit some restaurants have.) It had 3 starters and 3 mains I seem to remember and the two of each we had, (a Chicken Tikka with a gorgeously bitter coriander paste and a chilli tempura prawn with dips for starters and Lamb Saag and a Butter Chicken derivative for mains, were beautifully cooked, tender and flavourful. Two excellent courses for less than €25. How bad?
Staff were attentive, but not fussy and extremely pleasant.
All in all, a terrific meal for two curry-heads, who've had more than their fair share of grub from the Indian Sub-continent.
The only slight quibble was the €4.50 each we paid for the two half-pint bottles of Cobra - Why do most restaurants feel the need to charge so much for a beer?
Definitely worth a visit however!
