Bodega Restaurant & Wine Bar: Waterford

In the heart of Waterford City is a restaurant that champions the local food experience. From the beginning, we have strived to offer the best of local produce where possible, to give value for money, to have fun, to provide great food and drinks & to have relaxed customers who can really let themselves go!!

Waterford is a hotbed for fresh, world class quality local produce from farmer to fisherman. The finest seafood & shellfish from Dunmore East, Kilmore Quay & Castletownbere, to the most succulent of local beef or organic pork from The Comeragh Mountains, "Free range" chicken from Wexford, and the famous "Blaa" from an artisan baker 500 metres away!

With a Local man in the Kitchen, Jamie Dowling, cooking up a storm, and restaurant manager Aneta, in charge of front of house, we can provide you with an experience to remember!

Critics and regulars alike acknowledge this place is fun and different. With early bird menus from €19.95, this is an affordable treat in a relaxed atmosphere.

"Heaven for your taste buds" Wow from the very start to the end of our visit. Food was just heavenly. You MUST try their patè. Lovely atmosphere, great wine. Bathroom was small BUT spotlessly clean, very well equipped. Cannot wait to get back there and eat more. Loads more.

"Lunch" A welcoming establishment coupled with professional friendly service and great food made our day after driving from Dublin. We like the idea of small plates if one does not want too much. We shared a cup of soup, starter and a sandwich. While the prawns had crunch, the carrot and celeriac soup depth of flavour, the hand-cut chips really stood out. We were told they made them from Maris Piper Potatoes and were also informed that Mayan Gold Potatoes make the best chips. We were impressed with the time they took to ‘educate’ us!!

"Lovely restaurant in Waterford" Chose this restaurant based on its trip advisor ratings and we were not disappointed. The menu has a great choice of local food and is very reasonably priced considering the high quality. The atmosphere is brilliant and this is helped by the friendly staff who take time to explain dishes to customers.

"Excellent food and service" This is a great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. There is a good selection of dishes including fish, steak, mini burgers and tasty deserts. From an intimate booth to a get together with friends it suits all occasions. I recommend you book as it can get busy. Good for lunch or early bird also.
