This Galway gem is tucked away from the main tourist drag past the historic Spanish Arch and on the swift waters of the River Corrib. Deserving all the stars, the grey granite restaurant, with a red door, is housed in an 18th Century Customs House. The décor is very country casual, with a large serving bar in the centre surrounded with loaves of homemade bread, jams and chutneys.
Ard Bia at Nimmo's is indeed all about the food and includes a cafe, restaurant and wine bar. Serving only the best, locally sourced food, their succinct menu changes regularly to reflect the changing seasons. The plates are beautifully rendered, and you will savour every bite from a menu that takes inspiration from gourmet Mediterranean, Irish, Middle Eastern, New Zealand, Lebanese and Indian a la carte. In the café, you can have a hearty breakfast, and at lunchtime expect to find homemade soups, smoked haddock and mussels chowder, a ploughman's platter, hummus on sourdough and Dahl or curry.

What a unique dining experience from start to finish. The location itself is one of a kind, with such attention to detail with the set up and décor. The staff were more than friendly and were helpful throughout the evening!
The food was delicious, everything was extremely fresh and tastefully presented - really great wine list to top it off.
We will definitely be back.

Firstly at a time when so many places are having problems with service whether caused by a shortage or a lack of training, Ard Bia certainly has gotten service right. From the person that greeted us at the door, to the servers, manager and bussers everyone did a fantastic job. They were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The server knew her stuff when it came to wine suggestions. The whole team seemed enthusiastic about what they were doing. The food was amazing. I'm a veggie and felt I had plenty of choice, not to mention they had a spectacular vegan chocolate tart for desert. We had an early reservation for my Mam's birthday, at no point did we feel rushed. I'll definitely be back.

Stopped in on a cold rainy day and were completely surprised by the quaint, cozy atmosphere, the incredible service, and the FANTASTIC food. The soup and bread were out of this world! Truly our favorite meal during our entire trip to Ireland! The combination of the atmosphere and our excellent meal was what you only see in movies! PERFECT!

"The Best Brunch" I've had brunch here quite a few times now and it is simply incredible. My favourite is probably the sweet potato and chorizo hash but everything I've tried has been delicious. The staff are extremely friendly and service is always impeccable. My favourite brunch spot in Galway!
