Glenlo Abbey Weddings

“I wanted to drop a short note to express our heartfelt thanks to you and the team at the Glenlo Abbey for helping us put on the most magical day for our Wedding at the hotel on 11th October. It was a dream come true for me getting married there being that I had expressed at the age of 9 to my parents that that was the place I would one day marry. Everything went like a dream that day.

From the start of the rehearsal evening the day before to the end of the events on the Saturday morning everyone was so warm, friendly and welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for us and we and all of our guests appreciated it so much!

Working with you in preparation for our big day was a breeze and we appreciate all you did for us. It was lovely having you there on the day, a friendly face who couldn’t do enough for us. The food was beautiful, staff in the reception room attentive and professional. I couldn’t recommend Glenlo Abbey as a wedding venue enough and thanks to you all for everything you did to make our day special. We look forward to returning to the venue on our next trip home!”

“My husband and I were married at Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate and cannot be more impressed with the hotel & staff! They made sure everything was perfect from check-in to check-out. We are American so it was a little dubious planning everything from so far away but the wedding manager was very responsive and always put my mind at ease when I had 10000+ questions I needed answered. As an event planner myself it was difficult not to personally check in on every detail on our wedding day so just knowing that the events team were there put me at ease so I could enjoy myself. For any brides considering this venue- the bridal suite was large enough to comfortably get ready with my 6 bridesmaids, hair & make-up artist + photographer; if your party is larger no problem! The food was perfect, bar service superb, there is absolutely nothing I would change. Aside from our perfect wedding, Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate was fantastic, we loved having a beautiful breakfast each morning. We spent a good amount of time in the Palmer bar which had a great range of whiskeys and cocktails to choose from. We will definitely be back!!”

“I have just celebrated my wedding at Glenlo Abbey. If TripAdvisor had six stars – I wouldn’t hesitate to give them on this review. Everything from planning the wedding, to checking out the next day was utterly seamless, professional and delightful. The service experienced by all our guests, including lots of children, was of the very highest calibre and everyone felt completely looked after. The hotel is simply beautiful, elegant, timelessly classic, and with warm turf fires, decadent furniture and beds, and wonderful food, the whole experience was utterly unique and special. “Destination Wedding Ireland

We had our destination wedding at the Glenlo and it exceeded all expectations. It is a bit nerve wracking having a destination wedding at a venue you have never seen prior, but the team made it seamless! We have been to Ireland a few times, but never to the Glenlo. When we researched venues we feel in love with it online and after our initial call, there was no question about having our wedding there. They are quick to respond which is important when you are planning from far away. Also the place is so beautiful you really do not need extra decorations which makes you save money and makes your life a lot easier. The team is wonderful to work with, you made a supposedly stressful day absolutely stress free for us. Thank you!

We had our ceremony in the Abbey, dinner in the River Room and our reception in the Dangan room. It worked out perfectly! The food and drinks were wonderful. My only tip would be to ask the couple what drinks may be popular as our group drinks Jameson like water and unfortunately they ran out of Jameson before the ceremony even started. Was not a big deal as there were other options, but maybe something to do for future weddings. All in all I have not stopped raving about how amazing this venue and team are. I would get married there again ten times over and cannot wait to be back to visit so we can stay at the Glenlo again!”

Family wedding so spent two nights there start to finish was lovely food cleanliness staff all a delight... Breakfast was superb fantastic buffet with a great variety of food and the then fresh ordered hot food.. French toast to die for

"Our perfect wedding at Glenlo Abbey"
We had our dream wedding at Glenlo Abbey! From our first meeting with the wedding coordinator in the beautiful hotel lounge, sipping tea in front of a roaring fire, to the personal care we received from the Glenlo staff throughout our wedding day, we couldn't have asked for more. We live abroad so we were unsure how the planning of our wedding would be, but thankfully we had no problem organising everything via email as the staff are very responsive. Many of our guests stayed at the hotel and really enjoyed the grounds and especially the Irish breakfasts! The reception room was laid out very tastefully and the ceremony, dinner, dancing and after party at the cellar bar went off so smoothly. The setting is just beautiful; we got so many beautiful photos around the hotel grounds and especially in the chapel. The value of the package was terrific in terms of the quality of the food, drinks and setting. Glenlo is a very special secluded venue, but being only 15 minutes from Galway, it was very accessible for all our guests who had come from all over the world. We particularly appreciated the little details like when the staff pulled the wedding party aside for a drink in the bar as our guests settled in the dining room All in all, a fantastic experience that we would recommend to everyone.
