Dromoland Golf & Country Club

My wife and I booked a 2 night stay as a special treat to celebrate our joint birthday and 31st wedding anniversary. We arrived at the impressive front gates of Dromoland Castle on Sunday 13th June and were greeted by an absolute gentleman who introduced himself and welcomed us to Dromoland. His friendliness and humour were a sign of what lay ahead for us. We have stayed in several 5 star hotels over the years but we have never experienced service as professional as this. Every single member of staff that we encountered during our 2 night stay was friendly, professional and courteous! the level of service they provided was hard to believe and it was maintained throughout our stay. Breakfast, on both mornings was incredible and served with a smile. We had dinner on the Sunday evening in the Hotel restaurant and we simply could not fault it. Lunch on the terrace with friends on the Sunday afternoon was a treat we will never forget. We enjoyed Clay Pigeon shooting on the Sunday and Falconry on the Monday morning and we can highly recommend both. I played a round of golf with a pal on the monday afternoon and once again the course was impeccable - one of the best rounds of golf I have played. We enjoyed an amazing lunch and drinks out on the patio area of the Fig Tree and once again we could not find fault. Dinner in the same restaurant that evening was very tasty and once again served with a smile by friendly staff. My wife enjoyed an afternoon at the spa getting all sorts of treatments done and she was very impressed. We enjoyed lovely walks around the grounds and it was just like paradise. We were so tempted to stay longer but unfortunately prior commitments prevented us however we will definitely return. We cannot wait! We could not recommend Dromoland Castle enough. Stunning place and the staff were so welcoming. Amazing couple of days spent relaxing.
Just forget about work and take one of the bikes and glide around grounds, go out on the lake with a picnic and relax in the boat and finish the day off with some delicious food. I'll be bringing my golf clubs the next time. Cant wait to go back

"Beautiful Setting"
Stay more than one night! Our biggest regret was not scheduling additional days. We were made to feel comfortable from the time we drove up. The restaurant and golf facilities were great! The staff at the club house were accommodating and extremely professional.

Full disclosure, we stayed at the castle but were not able to play the golf course. We did, however, tour the entire facility and see every single hole. The amazing staff was kind enough to take us around on carts and give us a great feel for what the experience would be like. I regret that we weren't able to play. The thing with Dromoland is that it's close to Shannon airport. That's what makes it special. I know people want to play links courses in Ireland, I do too, but if you have time after you arrive or before you depart, don't overlook Dromoland as a convenient option. You won't be disappointed. It's a difficult course, but beautiful with terrific people. A big thumbs up.

"Fantastic experience"
Was in Drumoland and decided to see if we could book a round of golf on spec as we hadn't pre-booked. The welcome we got in the club house was lovely, and the gentleman at the counter went out of his way to accommodate us.While we waited for our tee time, he suggested we have lunch in the restaurant and we were so glad we did, it was absolutely gorgeous.
The golf course itself is magnificent, we had a wonderful day (we even played good golf) thanks to all the staff at the club. A very memorable experience!

"WOW"
One of the best Hotels I have ever stayed at. Friendliness of All Staff is exceptional. We ate at the Golf Club, the Bar and the Restaurant. All were exceptional.
If you are in Ireland make sure you put this on your Bucket List. Stay for a minimum of 2 nights to enjoy All the Castle has to offer.

We played this wonderful course a day before a wedding, and everything exceeded my expectations. A splendid course, coupled with an extremely nice staff, made our golfing experience very rewarding! The course itself plays a lot tougher than it looks. We encountered windy conditions on the back nine, which made the round a bit more challenging. The course was well-maintained and the greens were sneaky-fast. I would definitely recommend this course - also, the club rental equipment was top-notch! I did not know what to expect, since we normally travel with our own sticks. Dromoland had the most recent Titleist irons/woods for our group. Pretty awesome...
