Lovely place to stay
Nice clean rooms with modern en suite and comfortable beds, generous tasty breakfast, calm and beautiful location, friendly host, easy parking - what's not to like? Definitely a good option well worth a detour.

"An Irish paradise"
Just recently returned from a fantastic 7 night stay at The Garden Gates. Our host Martina is absolutely fabulous and with the addition of our new found friend in Larry makes it an Irish Oasis. Martina is always full of ideas and things to do and places to see, while Larry is always the entertainer keeping us all happy. The Garden Gates has a fantastic Breakfast Menu (spoilt for choice). This is our second visit in 3 years to The Garden Gates and we will be returning again. More than just a B&B they are real friends.

"Throughly Recommended a wonderfully relaxing stay"
A beautiful house in beautiful grounds. A lovely warm welcome from Martina and Larry and of course Honey the bloodhound (who is outside). The rooms are clean and soooo comfortable. I had the best nights sleep in the wonderfully large bed. The breakfasts are great, lots of choice should you stray from the full Irish and homemade jams and cake all served with warmth and great humour. We have become fast friends with them both and feel like we are coming home when we visit. So relaxed we didn't want to leave. Oh and a great base to explore Mayo.

"Would certainly stay there again"
Beautiful house in fabulous grounds. Martian and Larry were brilliant hosts. Terrific choice of breakfasts. Plenty towels and toiletries in bathroom, and great value for money. Stayed here because hotels in Castlebar and surrounding areas were fully booked owing to events in both towns. This has definitely changed my mind about staying in a private house and would certainly stay here again.
