Moy House: Clare

Dating back to the 18th Century, Moy House was originally built as home to Sir Augustine Fitzgerald of Carrigoran family in County Clare.

In its majestic splendor, Moy House prevails over Lahinch Bay and offers breathtaking views of the wild Atlantic ocean. Set on fifteen acres of grounds adorned by mature woodland and a picturesque river, this is a truly unique setting on Ireland's West coast.

Major restoration has transformed this country house in keeping with present day expectations of superior standards, yet preserving its unique character, style and ambiance.

Now with its mix of contemporary and classical elegance today's modern traveler can enjoy luxurious surroundings with natural and warm hospitality.

Guests will enjoy dining at Moy House where you can indulge in the ever-changing view of the ocean from the conservatory candlelit restaurant. Watch sun set on the sea as you enjoy fine cooking.

Heaven for sure! Arrived early, and room was almost ready. We were greeted promptly and give tea and a lovely slice of homemade lemon like pound cake. Room was ready shortly after. Were in the Romance Room, they separated the beds as we were Mom and daughter, looked out over the ocean, could see the cliffs of Moher from room. Scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Staff was very friendly, food was excellent. Would recommend this B&B to everyone. I hope to go back some day.

Comfort, views and superb service Stayed here at the beginning of a tour of the West Atlantic Way. It was a great start to our tour. Moy House is situated on the cliffs just outside Lahinch and has superb views across the bay. The whole place is a mix of luxury and comfort with a large dose of friendliness. On arrival we were shown around to the common areas, kitchen etc. Our room , Carrowgar, was large luxurious and comfortable. It had a large four poster bed, plus ample storage and a large en-suite. There was also the little extra touches which make a place special, eg a local morning paper on the door each morning and your bed turned down in the evening with a little gift either a small bottle of Baileys each. The food was based around things from their own garden and farm we did look round the garden which is actually a huge field with polly tunnel etc. Breakfasts were good sized and delicious with a choice of cooked and cold. We enjoyed one evening meal which was a 5 course dinner. They did a special for me as a vegetarian and both mine and my partners were delicious. All the staff were friendly, helpful and keen to ensure our stay was the best. Moy House is a great place to stay for comfort, luxury and food.

"Beautiful property with fabulous food" We stayed at Moy House since we had a couple of golfers in our group that had a tee time at Lahinch (about a 10-15 minute drive away). Moy House is classically beautiful, not big (around 9 rooms), service was wonderful and the food was phenomenal. Though a short distance from downtown Lahinch (which has several shops and restaurants), you either have to walk via a very rocky beach or walk via the road that doesn't always have sidewalks. We would definitely stay there again.

"A real gem" This place is amazing from start to finish. It is small and intimate with staff providing extraordinary service. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The views of the ocean and coastline are breathtaking. The best part comes with breakfasts and dinners. Don't miss the opportunity to have dinner with them. Our two dinners were some of the best meals during our entire visit to Ireland. We loved the drawing room with the honour bar. A great place to hang out and relax. My only quibble is that the Internet service only works in the drawing room.

"Incredible!" We stayed at the Moy House on a recent visit to Ireland and it was the highlight of our trip! From the moment we walked in to a spectacular setting and delightful staff, we knew it was special. We were in a downstairs in the Kilfarboy, amazing view - perfect! Also, the 6 course dinner is a must. Breakfasts are something to look forward to....delicious and the staff goes out of their way to make every moment special!!!
