Arnot House: York

Welcome to Arnot House - a late Victorian, brick built town house that has been run as a bed and breakfast since 1995 by mother and daughter team, Ann and Kim Sluter-Robbins.

Arnot House stands in Grosvenor Terrace, a quiet side street that overlooks Bootham Park with views across to York Minster. Arnot House was built c1885 and has many original features including marble and cast iron fireplaces, decorative plaster coving, sash windows, plaster ceiling roses and a fine staircase.

With its antiques, paintings and elegant furnishings it blends Victorian atmosphere with modern amenities in all the rooms.

The many shops and restaurants of York city centre are just a few minutes walk away and all the city's attractions and museums are within easy reach. York is so easy to explore as much of York is kept car free within the ancient city walls.

If you arrive by car there is free permit parking on the street and if you come by train or coach then the station is only a few minutes walk or taxi drive from the house.

Further afield you can explore the Yorkshire Moors and Dales, the seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby, historic houses such as Castle Howard, Nunnington Hall and Beningborough Hall, or the county towns of Harrogate, Beverley, Helmsley and Pickering.
