Whitehill Cottage: Fermanagh

Luxury self catering cottage

Whitehill Cottage has been beautifully and sympathetically restored to offer luxurious modern facilities without compromising the period features and ambiance of what is a stunning example of an original Irish cottage.

We believe there is nothing as unique as this in Northern Ireland. Could this be the most idyllic get away destination in the province.

Nestled on the Colebrooke Estate which comprises 1000 acres of stunning Fermanagh countryside, the cottage offers peace from the outside world.

The weary can rest and recuperate, whilst the over active can fish, shoot, ride, cycle and play tennis to name but a few of the many activities on offer.

The cottage is 90 minutes from Belfast and 40 minutes from the glorious Donegal coast.

Fermanagh is renowned for its loughs and islands (one for each day of the year), its history and unspoiled character that offer a truly memorable holiday experience in Ireland.

Lovely and peaceful cottage. Full of character, but with all mod cons. Ticked all our boxes!

“Wonderful peaceful escape to the country!”

We spent three lovely nights at Whitehill Cottage in Colebrooke Estate in mid November. The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped. The wood burning stove and the central heating kept us comfortably warm despite the cold weather. The cottage has been beautifully restored, is very tastefully furnished with luxury bedding and everything you could possibly need.
We expecially appreciated the peace and quiet, no street lighting or road noise. It's just the place to recharge the batteries and escape from the busyness of life. WiFi connection was great with plenty of interesting information about the estate and the area.
Thanks to Miriam and David for their warm welcome and helpful advice.
Thanks too to Christopher for taking care of us so well and for making us feel very much at home. We look forward to returning in the very near future.

“Hidden Gem in 1000 Acres of Outstanding Natural Beauty”

My wife and I had a wonderful stay on the Brookeborough Estate for 3 days in October. Miriam and David were exceptionally warm, kind, chatty and friendly hosts with an incredible local geographical knowledge and a fascinating encyclopaedic comprehension of the local history. The Brookeborough grounds were perfect for walking with our dog and you will never tire of the scenic rolling hills with abundant flora and fauna. We were lucky enough to see all three cottages while we were there, and they are all beautifully and tastefully renovated. The luxury cottages especially were of a standard that you would never want to leave them! We stayed in the Triumphal Arch Lodge, managed by Irish Landmark Trust. It too was exceptional. Quaint, Old worldly with a beautiful open fire and very comfortable bedrooms, the residence was a much appreciated respite from the City life. Location is only 10mins from the Lakes of Fermanagh, so there is plenty to see and do. We absolutely recommend staying in any of the cottages, and guarantee you will not regret it. We will be back very soon!

“We just keep coming back”
Whitehill Cottage is the perfect accommodation if you want to relax, unwind and recharge your batteries. It is quietly nestled within the Colebrooke Estate.

The cottage itself has been beautifully restored yet maintains the original features. The lounge provides comfy chairs, sofa and a wood burning stove which is perfect to sit by on the darker nights. In summer there is plenty of outside space including patio seating and a bbq. You may even see the Sika deer.

The kitchen provides everything you would need, including a dishwasher, a Smeg fridge freezer and excellent cooking facilities with a table seating 6.

There are two elegant double bedrooms (king size beds and extremely comfortable) both ensuite, with ample space and wardrobe facilities.

Guests are free to explore the estate and to book treatments at the spa (very good).

We have been here in all the seasons and there is something different to see and do each time. But, whatever the season, the accommodation is the perfect backdrop to a relaxing weekend, or longer.
