Waterford Castle Lodges: Waterford

Situated on its own private Island on the River Suir, Waterford Castle lodges offer luxury self catering accommodation nestled in the suburbs of Waterford City.

Feel yourself travel through time as you make the magical journey by a Car Ferry (2 minutes) to the 310 acre Island Resort.

With a rich history which dates back to the 6th century, guests can wake after a peaceful night’s sleep to the picturesque and enchanting scenes and sounds the island has to offer.

Guests at the lodges can avail of all the facilities of Waterford Castle hotel including gourmet food served in the award winning Munster room restaurant and Fitzgerald Bar.

Island Activities include an 18 hole championship golf course, tennis courts, clay pigeon shooting or croquet on the Castle lawns along with the Kids Island Fiesta Club which runs through the school holidays.

Accommodation
A selection of three and four bedroom lodges all of which boast en-suite facilities. The properties are finished to a high standard and include all mod cons. There is also an enclosed garden with BBQ and seating.

"Couple, family"
Fabulous hotel , staff are amazing. Such a cosy hotel, grounds are stunning and the lodges are so gorgeous,perfect for families.I also got married here and it was the most magical day from the moment we got on the car ferry, i couldn't find one fault at all would highly recommend to couple or a family get away. A hidden gem on its own private island.

"Amazing stay *****"
Staycation at its best. We stayed in one of the lodges at Waterford castle for a weeks family holiday. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Pure relaxation from start to finish. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived. If you want to completely switch off from the world Waterford castle is the place to do it . Arrive to the island by ferry and step back in time to old world charm and hospitality.Fantastic golf facilities and again friendly and welcoming staff. Our accommodation was warm, spacious and comfortable, with all mod cons provided. Food is top class. If you like to get out into nature there is a beautiful walking trail around the island where you can spot some local deer, foxes, badgers and more. Valeria from the front desk deserves a special mention, she helped us with queries before we arrived, with anything we needed during our stay, and was friendly face always at the front desk. Will be back for sure. Thank you to everyone at Waterford castle for a fantastic stay.

"Special Birthday"
My wife celebrated a special birthday last week and she and I along with our two sons daughter in law and two grandchildren stayed at Waterford castle . Three of us in the castle and 4 in one of the lodges nearby.
The welcome by all the staff was exceptional, the food was really good, the facilities were also very good.
The first trip on the ferry was a real treat for our three year old grandson. During a walk around the island we met deer , squirrels, many types of birds and even a seal basking in the sun.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and wool highly recommend it. Special thanks to Michael who spoiled our younger grandson with shortbread.

"Fantastic Lodge Stay"
Spent a fantastic week in the lodges at Waterford castle. The house was perfect for our family, with everything you could need. Very comfortable and calm surroundings. The resort itself is stunning. The castle is beautiful and we had breakfast there on our last day which was fantastic. Played a round of golf and met some of the deer on the 16th hole!!
Anything we needed was quickly supplied by hotel reception. The house was spotlessly clean and all staff were very kind and helpful. We would have stayed for another week if we could! Will definitely be back.

"Excellent staff"
Staff in resort make it- from check in, waitress staff in hotel, golf club house in particular and maintenance -our experience was one of professionalism courtesy and efficiency which 7 months into Covid was great to see. We required an extra night in Lodges which was facilitated with minimum hassle. Lodges are albeit devoid of soft furnishings due to Covid are very comfortable, spotlessly clean and finished to very high standard . Well done to all at resort.
