"Trip of a lifetime"
The service was excellent! The amenities were impeccable. Everyone is smiling and so helpful and kind. It really is an unbelievable experience. We stayed in the hideaway cottage for 4 days. Each day we received a bottle of champagne, fruit tray and pastries. The staff decorated our room for our anniversary and gave us lovely gifts and hand-written cards. The Irish wolfhounds are in the castle each morning waiting to be petted by the guests. The grounds are lovely, perfect for walking or taking a leisurely bike ride.

"Deserves its fantastic reputation"
I brought my mother October 29th for one night to celebrate her birthday, and it is hands-down the most incredible hotel I've ever visited.
From the second we pulled up to the hotel, it was clear the staff were going to be as lovely as the scenery! We were very warmly welcomed by Tom at the gate who directed us where to park, and once we stepped inside we were shown to reception. Hannah at the front desk was an absolute pleasure, she helped with our bags and offered a hot drink as it was freezing outside. She was very welcoming and warm and even had us upgraded to a stunning junior suite! She then introduced us to Estevan to bring us up to the room.
Estevan was an absolute pleasure, he carried all our bags like a gentleman and explained where everything was in the hotel, and gave us a little history about the hotel as we made our way to the room. He explained how everthing worked in the room once we got there and called a little later to make sure we had settled in all right.
The room itself (room 426) was the most stunning hotel room I've ever been in. Kept beautifully classic yet updated to the max with floor heaters, a fireplace, remote window blinds and so much more. It was even better than we had expected. Tom(if I remember correctly) from room service dropped up an ice bucket later and was another lovely member of staff to encounter, he was very polite and helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
We had a beautiful dinner in the cottage, where the lovely staff yet again met our every need, even bringing my mom out a birthday dessert.
Honestly every aspect of this hotel is five star, with the staff really making it exceptional, thank you all so much for a fantastic stay!

"Lovely and Unusual"
As we arrived I knew I was going to like it due to several warm greetings and smooth check in. We basically had our stay confirmed before we went to our room. Our room was unusual. Colors chintz and frills and then all modern amenities. Computerized everything. Heated floors & towels in the bath. Great size. Unfortunately although we stayed 3 nights we were gone sightseeing all day. Next time we will spend time with Ashford activities.
Charles V was great and our service was impeccable. The food was very good but not awesome. The overall price seemed high. We ate 2 nights at the Cottage and it was great, especially the seafood.
The interior was extremely nice but couldn't keep up with the location.
Several have expressed that they didn't like the breakfast. I thought the buffet was truly lacking but when I started ordering ala carte my breakfast became very enjoyable.
