Set in an acre of private land. The barn which is named after the lovely farmer who lived and worked the surrounding land, has been transformed from a once modest shepherd s cottage. Retaining all the charm and features of an old property, warming oak beams, dry stone walls. The Brecon and Monmouth Canal is very close at hand, with Goytre Whalf making a great morning stroll. Well located to explore the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean in one direction and the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons in the other. Located just 20 minutes from the Severn Bridge, with easy access to Cardiff, Monmouth, Usk and Abergavenny, perfect for the country shows and food festivals throughout the year. In the Welsh borderlands you will find Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle, The Roman Fortress in Caerleon are all within easy reach The Big Pit is also well worth a trip with children, (free of charge), a chance to head underground in a real mine. Leisure facilities: private hot tub. This open plan accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king size with views and 1 twin. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Separate WC on the ground floor. Lounge area: with woodburner (first basket of logs included), TV and DVD. Kitchen/diner: with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Utility room: with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside: enclosed garden with duck pond (safely fenced) and a pretty terrace set within the ruins of the old barn with table and chairs and a hot tub. Amenities: bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and Wi Fi included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome. Additional info: secure storage area for bikes. Location: pubs within walking distance.
