Just back from a weeks stay over Easter at Kildysart. We arrived in the evening and it was wonderful to find the house waiting to welcome us. Lily had left the house ready and it was warm cosy and superbly comfortable for our family of five adults two teenagers and two small children. We immediately felt "at home". The house is so spacious, we never felt crowded and the large bedrooms complete with huge ensuite rooms(some with walk-in dressing rooms) and large comfortable beds was exactly what tired travellers required. In addition, we utilised the downstairs study room with its double size sofa bed and its own bathroom, as a bedroom for our ten year old grandson who was well chuffed with his own "den". The teens "owned" the upstairs (third floor) which has its own sitting area. They made great use there of the WIFI to keep in touch with their outside world, but they loved the location and surrounding countryside. We settled straight in with minimum intro fuss from Lily, who went above and beyond for us, and provided us with a truly lovely welcome pack for which we were most appreciative. Nice touch. The outside utility room provides excellent laundry facility and a nice little escape from the family lol, if only it had a comfy chair in there Lily i could read a book and use the excuse that I am waiting for the laundry to finish! We loved the family kitchen, where we prepared many meals during the week as it is well equipped for a family of our size. The gardens are also huge, although we had good weather all week, the sun didnt really shine enough for us to sit outside but the kids all made good use of it for playing outdoors. This would be fabulous in summer etc. We made numerous easy short trips to Ennis,The Ailwee caves Ballyvaughan, Bunratty, The Cliffs of Moher and dont forget to check out the activities in Lahinch, great surfing beach, golf watersports, and the Leisure centre.
