Connell's Barn is ideal for couples and families, with easy access to many historical sites in the beautiful Boyne Valley region, as well as Dublin city and Belfast.

It's only a ten-minute drive to Brú Na Boinne (New Grange), Battle of the Boyne at Oldbridge, Hill of Slane and Millmount Tower, amongst many other sites along the Boyne Valley Drive.

Connell's Barn is adjacent to Connell's House, which is a beautifully restored thatched cottage and is also available to rent through Fivestar.ie, it sleeps up to 10 guests.

Accommodation

Connell's Barn has an open plan kitchen, dining, living room space with a sofa bed for an extra adult guest or two children.

The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals with a dining table that seats four.

There is a desk for using your laptop or planning your day trips with the local information folder, which includes various maps and brochures for the numerous local attractions in the Boyne Valley and further afield.

Upstairs on the mezzanine level, there is a double bed and en-suite shower room with views over the Village Green. This room can accommodate 2 foldaway single beds for extra adult or children guests. A travel cot, high chair and toys are also available upon request.

Location

Connell's Barn overlooks the Village Green in Duleek, with the oldest Lime tree in Ireland. It's set back from the Main Street in a quiet location with plenty of free on street parking. The village has a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and two restaurants all within walking distance.

Connell's House & Barn is conveniently located 5 minutes from Junction 8 of the M1 motorway, providing easy access to Dublin Airport, Dublin City and Belfast.

Explore 'Ireland's Ancient East' whilst staying at Connell's Barn, check out their website for a variety of suggested tours along the eastern side of the island. The three-day tour ‘Unlock the Myths and Secrets of Ancient Pastoral Lands’ commences from Brú na Boinne (Newgrange) which is only 10 minutes from Connell's Barn.

Wow! Where to start... the place (a renovated barn) is just absolutely amazing. Super stylish, immaculately clean and with everything you might need and can imagine. Thoughtful amenities, cool design, cozy comfort. This is a place you’ll absolutely love staying. Located in a charming little corner of Duleek, location was perfect. Parking is easy, locals are so nice, and the town is just the sweetest location. Karla is a great host. Communication with her was spot on, always prompt and easy. Check-in couldn’t be easier, with all the instructions clearly explained to you for a smooth self check-in. What an exceptional experience. Surely we will come back to the Barn in the future. Thank you Karla! Absolutely recommended!

Quite honestly, if you don't stop reading these reviews NOW and book this place, someone else will (probably someone who's stayed here before and desperate to return again!) and you'll miss out on experiencing this absolutely stunning barn conversion. Immaculately clean, warm, comfortable, well proportioned space and with all the kitchen facilities you need. And Karla is best kind of host - quick to respond, helpful, focused on helping her guests have a great stay by providing a few beers in the fridge on arrival! There's plenty to do in and around the area including some fantastic beaches and coastlines. My strong advice is to stop reading and get booking whilst your dates are still showing availability. You'll love it.

What a beautiful house....Very tastefully decorated with lovely touches everywhere. Wonderful house to relax in...we really enjoyed our stay...Karla is a great host with great communication from start to finish.

Great stay for 2 adults and 2 children. The barn was such unique accommodation with a very cosy feel. Great location for Tayto park and Funtasia. Easy to access from Dublin airport. Thank you for a great stay.

An amazing find. Came across this place as looking for somewhere close to slane where we were attending a wedding. Many places were booked up so this was our closest option and what a blessing in disguise! Such a stylish unique property, felt luxurious yet homely. Easy to operate the household appliances with clear instructions. Lock box meant flexibility of check in time. Well stocked kitchen with many utensils, pots and basic necessities such as tea and coffee. Comfortable sleeping arrangements. Loved the bathroom, great use of space, amazing decor and fantastic shower. Could not have asked for a more pleasant stay and Karla was always happy to answer questions to make our stay more comfortable.

What a wonderful place!! The barn was the perfect resting place for our family of four. Duleek is a quaint little town within easy driving distance to a lot of great historical destinations. If your visiting the Boyne Vally, we 100% recommend Karla’s house!

Karla's cottage was absolutely fantastic. The house was immaculate, warm and cosy with a fully kitted out kitchen. Karla was quick to respond and has created a beautiful space in a modern country style. The house is very homley with some lovely touches to really tell you the story of this wonderful old building. A welcome basket with local treats and milk for a cuppa awaited our arrival. I heartily recommend both Karla and Connell's Barn.

We had a wonderful stay at the Barn. We had quite a bit of site seeing to do but ended up spending a good amount of time indoors because of how comfortable it made us feel. The place is well equipped, calm, and spacious enough. You'll get to appreciate it even more once you see the transformation it went through to get to what it is today (you can see that in the black book on the shelf by the radio). All this to say, amazing stay and highly recommended.

The Barn was the perfect setting before our wedding. We had a wonderful relaxing few days in the most stunning setting. All of the little touches make the beautiful property even more stunning. Karla is the most unreal host and is super helpful from start to finish. She has some wonderful local recommendations that I would definitely suggest should be experienced. We hope to return here time and time again. What a hidden gem!
