My wife and I decided to look outside Dublin city for hotels and found Tolka River Farm, Batterstown Vacation Retreat on a last minute whimsical decision, which is common with our travels. I received a phone call confirming the reservation and even though we were still in Dublin, and would not get to the apartment until after supper, this did not appear to be an issue. We did not get to the apartment until around midnight, we were graciously welcomed by Kate and Dermot. The apartment was as pictured, a new private guest apartment on their beautiful and quiet property. Kate and Dermot left snacks, cereal, fruit, flapjacks, etc. on the counter. Alongside milk, ready-to-eat salmon, bread, beer, and fruit juice in the refrigerator. The apartment came with a complete kitchen, including a toaster, coffee maker, oven, stove, and microwave -- with all the required cooking utensils. The apartment was graciously placed with pamphlets so you never had to worry about what you were going to do the following day, an Ireland book with pictures/information, and additional items to obtain ideas for the trip. Also provided were miscellaneous bathroom items to include: Q-tips, hand soap and lotion, toothpaste, mouthwash, antiperspirant, and shower items to include bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The restroom and shower were graciously sized to fully accommodate getting ready for the day. The apartment has a television to relax, all the USB chargers/adapters required for electronics and outlets, Wi-Fi to keep in touch with family/friends or research the rest of your Ireland stay. The hospitality and generosity was the best I have ever received on Booking. The Batterstown Vacation Retreat, alongside Kate and Dermot, provided the best stay during our trip. When I return to Dublin alone or with my family, I will be staying at the apartment again. Just a few minutes outside Dublin, but well worth it!
