The Shelbourne has never looked so good and this stand-out landmark on Dublin's St. Stephen's Green is now ready for the next 100 years following the complete restoration of its elegant Georgian exterior. The five-star 260 bedroom iconic building, now operated by Marriott as a Renaissance Hotel is always at the centre of social life in Dublin for locals and international visitors and is set for a sparkling new season following its multi-million euro refurbishment.

Founded in 1824, 'the grand dame of Dublin hotels' has always represented luxury and the historic Heritage Suites and Park View rooms have now also been renovated and are truly world-class. There's a sense of Irishness throughout in every detail of the meticulous makeover, with stunning Waterford crystal chandeliers in some of the rooms and contemporary photography by Irish artist / photographer David Farrell.

There's an atmosphere of timeless tradition now juxtaposed with the most modern hotel essentials at the Shelbourne, which is now Dublin's largest five star hotel. The latest step in the refurbishment is the upgraded 1,530 square foot presidential suite – the Princess Grace Suite – described by some as now 'the best room' in Dublin. The grand staircase has always been the stand-out feature of the hotel and is now a talking point even more than ever for visitors as they enter the hotel, framed by the opulent marble and luxury of the beautifully-lit entrance hall.

The Leech Bar and Terrace is next on the plans for refurbishment and a mezzanine and outdoor courtyard is planned. There's now a leisure club with fitness centre and indoor pool, signature spa and salon and 5-star restaurant dining at the Saddle Room and the Lord Mayor's Lounge, which is also set to be restyled in 2018 – the renaissance is set to continue!
