“Ecstasy on a plate!”
Actually, many plates. If you want to dine sumptuously without being fleeced and conned by the Michelin star brigade look no further. Food, staff, wine, hospitality, inventiveness, quality, choice are just superb.
“Bank holiday bliss! ”
I'm not a newbie to the excellent food at MacNean house! As a family, we've had many beautiful Sunday lunches in the establishment. However, over the bank holiday weekend I took my boyfriend to experience Neven's beautiful food for the first time. As per usual the food was flawless, service was impeccable and the "MacNean suite" that we stayed in was beautiful!! Well worth the money as it is a truly magical experience! Make sure to book months in advance if you want to dine and stay on a Saturday night! First class!! Thanks again!
“The rave reviews say it all”
We had tried for a reservation here some 4 months before visiting the area and were somewhat taken aback that we couldn't get one. We have been to many top quality restaurants - including a good few Michelin star restaurants - and had never found them to be booked out to this extent. Suffice to say we got lucky with a Sunday lunch cancellation on the day of our departure for home that fitted in perfectly with our travel plans. What a way to finish our Holiday break!
The setting is beautiful, the staff welcoming and the food outstanding. This was Michelin star standard with a more relaxed less stuffy feel - Irish hospitality at its best.
It would be dishonest to say that every last detail was perfect but the natural warmth of the staff made the whole experience all the more real.
A memorable lunch and an experience we'd be all too willing to repeat....if we had half a chance of getting in again!
Keep up the good work!
