"Beautiful grounds"
Amazing gardens and even though can only see the outside of the castle worth the time to tour. The snack area was not much to speak of but art interesting.

"Wonderful evening at the opera"
we had the pleasure of attending the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival recently and had the loveliest evening ever in Ireland. The weather happened to be fabulous which added to the occasion but the whole evening was just one wonderful thing after the next. The castle at Lismore and the surrounding gardens are heavenly, the meal we had before the opera was absolutely delicious and the opera itself was very amusing and beautifully sung and presented. The guest were dressed in magnificent attire, the staff were so delightful and helpful and the entire evening ran like clock work. And when we left there were flares lighting up the gardens and paths out. All utterly sublime.

"A unique place"
June morning near gardening perfection...the colour in the borders was splendid. Superb ancient yews and interesting tender shrubs and trees that would be hard to find elsewhere in Ireland or Britain. All against the breath-taking backdrop of Lismore Castle.

"Lovely"
Visited this place on our first day in Ireland, as it was close to our hotel. Great first day out for a relaxed walk. Lovely flowers and nice castle. Very peaceful and can take as long as you like wandering around the gardens.

"Stunning gardens"
Best gardens I saw in Ireland. Interesting range of plants and vegetables, interspersed with a variety of impressive sculptures.
