“Return Visit :)” The wife and I returned to Ballyvolane for a night's stay at the end of August. The place was just as amazing as we had remembered. We enjoyed strolling around the grounds, chatting to other guests, hanging out with the dogs and relaxing in our room. The food was amazing (as expected) - a full five-course meal which we enjoyed with all of the other guests. Breakfast too was exceptional. I would like to say a massive thank you to Jenny, Justin, Ewan and Bernie for making us feel so welcome. We'll be back next year.

“Ahhhh. Perfection.” We couldn't have selected a more perfect place to spend our first night on the Emerald Isle than the Ballyvolane House. The friendly people -- both staff and other travelers -- and wagging tails (the four house dogs) made for a truly warm and memorable first evening in Ireland! We especially enjoyed the lively conversation with other guests during dinner and in the drawing room after. An excellent night’s sleep in a comfy bed allowed my husband and I to escape any jet lag (we had spent the previous night flying from the U.S.); our 21-year-old son reported he also slept soundly in his cozy "glamping" tent (he appreciated the hot water bottle tucked into his bed – as a Florida boy, it may have been the first one he had ever seen). The following morning, after wandering the idyllic property and touring the on-site boutique gin distillery, the three of us left to embark on the rest of our Irish adventure, wistful that we couldn’t stay longer at the Ballyvolane House. Justin and Jenny: Thank you for sharing your stunning home. We hope to be back one day!

“Magical, memorable experience” Ballyvolane is a very memorable stay -- it is an authentic Irish manor decorated in traditional but not stuffy style, with a wonderful welcoming staff and friendly owners. We enjoyed the formal dinner served in the traditional dining room as a fun way to meet other guests and enjoy a unique experience. The property has plenty of character and patina from its age but the rooms are comfortable and not creaky. The grounds are fun to wander and the sitting room is superb for reading (from the house's wonderful collection on Ireland) and drinking tea or cocktails from the honesty bar by the fire. Ballyvolane is best savored with a stay of at least 2 nights - we stayed for 2 and were glad not to be rushing off after just one night. The glamping tent option can also be a more affordable way to enjoy this very Irish experience.
